Is McQ anything like Brannigan? I love the Frontiere score and the movie is good fun but I've never seen McQ.
Both have funky roots. I would say Brannigan is a bit softer and more melodic than McQ. But McQ has a very "goldsmithian" mood and is a lot more enjoyable. In other words, a little big masterpiece (and a must have).
What possible reason could there be to NOT have the alerts? The only negative I could possibly see would be if someone was planning on buying something in a couple months that they'd have to step up and buy now...
Just picked up the two that I didn't have and to date I'm just 34 short from having every FSM release. Of all the collections I consider the FSM CDs to be more than just good listening but also a testament to the history of film scoring and I am sad to see it all end, but will show off my collection with pride - with one last OOP in the 34 I need to go the complete set is within reach, but I'm sad that after the next handful of releases that there won't be anymore to add. It will be missed but I treasure every release! Long Live FSM!
I appreciate knowing when something is in short supply.
I spent 3 hours last night with JUDGE in my cart, trying to make an up order. In the end I deleted everything I had selected, including JUDGE. Don't you hate it when that happens?
I appreciate this very much - took the opportunity to get THE EGYPTIAN, and while I was at it, ordered PLYMOUTH ADVENTURE as well, as I think I should have ordered it (Rózsa! Seafaring music!!) a long time ago. Isn't this how those sales are supposed to work?
The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean-originally 3,000 limited edition, but for contractual reasons (term expired) we have to cut it off at 1,500 copies—less than 30, $19.95.
Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but is sounds like FSM had to destroy 1500 copies because the license expired.
This was a marginal purchase at $20, which I decided against, but I would have bought it at a lower price.
Sounds like a missed opportunity for both myself and FSM.
