I am so tempted to place another order-besides the one I placed this morning. I got the Raksin set in 09 and sold it to a board member- a great bud- when I needed a little money for a car repair. I listened to it and it was good. I hope all who can will avail themselves to this offer.

Go ahead and place another order. I'd love to receive Wait Until Dark for Christmas. big grin

I need to carve time out tomorrow to work out what I want to buy to take advantage of this deal.

I have about 6 Williams releases to get, The Blue Box and the Ron Jones project. Not to mention a ton of other things I'd like. However the wife would kill me if I put it all in my basket at once (though so so tempting to do so) and customs would have a field day smile

Filling in some fsm have delayed getting. This was a big incentive.

Query...does the total amount of the CDs alone have to be over $100, or does getting over the $100 mark with shipping costs included count?

Good Lord, how hard is it to read and comprehend this? And I quote-

Here’s how: Once you’ve placed your order for the $100 at Screen Archives (pre-tax, pre-shipping, etc.), put in the notes field a request, “FREE RAKSIN 5CD SET.” (SAE is renowned for their customer service, and will take care of you.)

For me, the best thing about this offer was Lukas' article explaining why he is doing it. So true! And a great gesture.
Unfortunately (well, not really, 'cause it's a great CD) I already have the Raksin box - purchased as soon as it was announced.
I went through the (very) short list of FSM titles I don't have and they all pretty much fall in the category of exactly what Lukas was talking about. Stuff I wouldn't buy unless I was starving for a new release and MIGHT love...or in one or two cases, something I am 100% sure I would hate. But I could just come up with $100 in "I might like this" CDs. However, I don't need the Raksin.
Now if the offer had been for the "Lassie" set or the TV Omnibus, I'd go for it. Both of those fall in the category of "I just can't afford to take the chance for $60".
Granted, if I spent the $100 on all those other "Maybe" scores, I still might get nothing I liked including the freebie - but it would be better odds. I'll keep my fingers crossed that this may be one of Lukas' "other promotions that will, we hope, benefit you". (hint. hint.)

I'll be honest and say that there is certainly 100 $ worth (or more) of FSM scores I'd be interested in, but the Raksin set is of little interest to me (having heard some of the samples).

I'd be more interested in the TV Omnibus really, because of the various composers and genres. So any promotion on the TV omnibus would be appreciated.

Having purchased all FSM box sets but not the Lassie box so far only a promotion for that title would make sense for me. This offer is perhaps not aimed at regular FSM customers like me since I own practically everything I really want from Lukas' catalogue.

But great for those who can now get and discover that great Raksin-Box!

Hmmmm - seems that not EVERYBODY IN THE WORLD is completely happy with Lukas' generous offer. Just like real life! I suppose we'd better get used to it!

As generous as that offer is and I think it's a great one for people who want that set, it's there to increase sales foremost. I'm really depleted budget-wise for the moment, so I need a better incentive to spend a hundred or more. Just passing along the message wink

Uh....so everyone HAS to be interested just because it's so generous?

I for one have bought all the FSM discs I'm interested in, outside of maybe a single one recently released, and other from a year and a half ago (I think) I was waffling on....so even if I was interested in obtaining the Raksin box (which I'm not...or I would have already bought it), I wouldn't have enough to buy to get it.

To TerraEpon and others - I may have expressed myself badly again. Let me explain. No, of course I don't EXPECT everybody in the entire world to be happy because it's a generous offer. I was attempting to be ironic at what I thought were the first signs of people typically and even predictably "complaining" (I know it didn't get that far) about how this particular offer didn't suit THEM... in particular! But maybe we should just leave it at that.

By the way, I can't get it because I'm not allowed to.

I was thinking to buy the Raksin Box because except Forever Amber and Laura i don´t own anything from this underrated composer. Lukas´offer made it much easier for me.

Anyone who doesn't have the Raksin set...and can't find enough titles to buy to qualify for getting it free...should buy it anyway.

One day, you'll really regret passing it by.

I agree. My copy gets a lot of play time. I am still thinking of putting in an order and getting another copy. The holiday gift exchange is coming up afterall. smile
