Not very familiar with the career of Wendy/Walter Carlos outside Tron, but I'm not really sure he / she can be considered a "bigger name".
She was very famous for her groudbreaking Moog interpretations of Bach music and at the time was Stanley Kubricks composer(/arranger) and so she certainly was renowned.
