For those of us who paid for "Volume One" of TV Omnibus and anticipated a Volume Two, I assume it's safe to say that since it's now being given away for free, there will not be a second set.
If some of those who are happy to have it for free now had bought it when it was released, maybe a Volume Two would have been more of a possibility.

We already knew there wouldn't be a volume 2 when Lukas announced months ago there wouldn't be a box set among the Final 10....

I have an order ready to go. Will probably pick up the tv box as a freebie, although I'm sorely tempted by Lassie and the 3 pack of Leonard Rosenman scores.

Yes, punish us heathens and saddle me up with more guilt. I'm already going to make use of this offer to support Lukas mostly as a 'thank you' for the great titles his label made possible, titles I did get from the get go. And if there isn't going to be a volume two of the tv omnibus, it isn't because people like me didn't buy it, it's because there weren't enough people like you to buy it, face reality please.

I'm also disappointed in the OP putting a sad smiley next to what is essentially a great promotion.

I almost wish there were releases I wanted but seeing as I already have nearly 200 FSM it's difficult for me to take advantage of this offer unless I finally decide to go for the Ron Jones Set. With Intrada, LaLa Land and Varese about to unload this is tough. But thanks LK

Lukas and Company -- If you haven't done this already you might consider promoting the TV Omnibus set on sites that cater to jazz fans rather than soundtrack collectors. I realize not everything on the set would be of interest, but I was listening to some of those Grusin tracks and thinking there are jazz lovers who might get the set just for those cuts alone.

I had planned on getting the TV Omnibus eventually because many of the TV movies that are spotlighted in the set are now available through Warner Archive and as I remain adamant that I should only experience soundtracks to end products that I actually get a chance to *see* I now have more of a reason for getting it.

Also, since I think it is not unrealistically that many obscure MGM TV series of the 60s-70s will at some point be made available from Warner Archive as well, I think this is as good a time as any to get all remaining TV soundtrack items from FSM I have not gotten in the past and have them at the ready to enjoy in the future. Hence to get the TV Omnibus, I also picked up "Cain's Hundred", "Logan's Run" (TV series), and also the Schifrin set as well since it has some of his TV themes. The throw in title was "I Spy" Volume 2 (I have to admit the one quirk I didn't like was that you had to have $100 spent "pre-tax" which means that even though my other three choices came out to $110 with shipping, the base price was $99.85 which meant I had to get one more item).

TV music in general is getting a higher level of recognition, and I think over the long-haul with almost all of my movie title Holy Grails taken care of, it will be in TV music that I'll find more Grail items to look for in the future or develop a new appreciation for.

The Schifrin set is really good. There are several of the tv score cds I don't have from FSM. I missed Knight Rider, I have yet to pick up the CHIPs cds. I also don't have Logan's Run or I Spy Vol 2 or Hawaii Five O. Guess I better get busy.

Got mine today as well, and having seen through Warner Archive in the last couple days both "Phantom Of Hollywood" (a good TV movie) and "The Deadly Tower" (a not so good TV movie), I finally have a couple specific items to connect with in the TV Omnibus set that I got as my freebie.

The packaging and presentation looks great and it would have been nice if this had been just the first of more, though I think ultimately the chief drawback is that this "Volume 1" was lacking a real giant grabber of the first order that the traditional TV fan of this era would have an instant recall of. I recognize though that for MGM TV productions of the 60s and 70s, once you get past the UNCLE stuff, there isn't quite as much that made its way into the realm of super memorable TV music from that era since most of the programs MGM produced except for "Medical Center" didn't become long-running hits so that made it all but impossible for there to be something that could stand out and basically forced most of us to consider this set on the basis of being a blind buy or something to augment eventual viewing of the TV films and episodes this music was written for.

With FSM's relationship with Warner, I would have loved to have seen Bronislau Kaper's work for the early episodes of "The FBI". Not to be I guess, but hopefully in this era when more TV music is becoming available, that might become a reality still.

Lukas, will the FSM label be releasing any new titles between now and when this offer expires?

FSM CD #244 is at the plant now and will probably be on sale shortly before Xmas, but while I like it, it's not the kind of super-anticipated album like Gremlins that you might expect from our last batch of CDs. (That's because it took ages and ages to finish!) #245, which IS a very exciting title, may or may not be done by then, we are working as fast as we can.

Thanks,

Lukas

Lukas, any updates on if these titles will be released before Christmas or not? A lot of us have very light wallets with all the recent Intrada, LLL, and Varese releases, and it would be super helpful to know if we have one or two more to budget for before the new year. Thanks so much!

Lukas. How much longer will this offer be in effect? I've got my wife talked into spending $100. on Tuesday at SAE for my birthday. Figured I might as well get the TV Omnibus.
