Having seen the movie on its UK release (not an experience I'd recommend), Kamen's score is one of its few redeeming features. I'll pick this up if I can.
I'll buy it if it sounds good. But can we really call this a Michael Kamen score? Sounds like a score done mostly by someone else in his honor.
Yes that's my concern about this. Well "concern" may not be the right word, but is it truly a Michael Kamen score?
Of course its a Michael Kamen score and the last thing he worked on so if you're a Kamen fan it should be a no-brainer abut picking this up. If anything it'll be a tribute to Michael from the people who worked with him, which is even more of a reason for any Kamen fan to buy it. Honestly! A new Michael Kamen score is released and it gets about 23 posts worth of interest on here! Thats just plain sad.
Just listening to the clips and it sounds wonderful. Can't wait to get it. I remember having huge arguments at uni with my friend Mr Southall about Michael Kamen (I wasn't a fan, to my shame)... now much regret it. Kamen was a terrific composer. Gaya sounds pretty authentic to me and hey, I'll enjoy every bit of Kamen I can get.

Because it's not a "pure" Kamen score I guess.
Well with pretty much no recent Kamen releases (apart from DIE HARD) I am still amazed that this hasn't gotten more support. Surely kamen fans are excited about this release? Because he didn't finish it doesn't mean its not a score of his. His influence and ideas are still in there. Its his final score!!!! Doesn't that mean anything to folk? Sorry if I'm going over the top a bit but the limp reaction on here to this really saddens me.

Well, it's unreleased Kamen nonetheless. Great release! Guess I'll have to go with the digital release. I hope it includes a digital booklet? Something that unfortunately seems out of fashion lately...
I guess people associate Kamen more with 80s action and movies like DIE HARD, LETHAL WEAPON or ROBIN HOOD. Those are the insant sellers. But a movie like BACK TO GAYA... One shouldn't underestimate the value of the pictures themself. So this one's for pure Kamen fans only I guess...
do these guys still release their cds in digipaks?
Nope. Jewel cases.
However, I must say that even though as a rule I dislike digipaks, the two digipaks I have from MSM are the best I've ever seen. I'm ok with that kind.
