Sorry you can't make it Petr, would've been cool to meet up. Aside from Thor and the SST gang, anyone else from this board attending? Adam? Althazan? I presume you are both going? I'm really 'psyched' for the alien concert (even more so with the Varese dvd out) and I just read on the festival page that they will be projecting H.R. Giger's paintings throughout the concert, love his work. I'm also looking forward to this academic gathering on the alien scores' sound (lots of similar events throughout the 3 days): The Biomechanical Symphony – around the cult Alien saga Creators of Alien were lucky in terms of exquisite orchestrations and distinguishable musical themes and scores of compositions illustrating individual parts of the work today form a canon of classical film music. Compositions of Jerry Goldsmith, James Horner, Elliot Goldenthal, John Frizzell, and Brian Tylor will be discussed by experts in the field, Elliot Goldenthal, the composer, will be the special guest of this meeting.
