Just saw some news..
If the translation of the web page functioned right, it seems the 2cd will be sold seperately.
And we will have 2 pre-order dates..
But the project will be delayed..
Maybe we have news on January 2013.

but why don't they accept paypal?
that bank wire transfer seems a bit complicated though. How is it done?
do you go to your local bank and pay money addressed to a specific account?

No need to worry Paypal is accepted! in the confirmation email I had, I was told to make a payment to a specific email and quote my reference number. Lo and behold - all good!

I received the new Ulysses 31 CD the other day and love it. Okay, so there is a little tape hiss here and there, but it's far better than the previous Loga-rythyme release. Also, there's a bunch of music on here, so much of it instantly recognisable.

It comes with some interesting liner notes too.

Totally agree with Pooter. This release in incomparable to anything we've seen pertaining to the Ulysses 31 soundtrack in the last 30 years. Fans of the series really need to buy this CD! It's now available on amazon.co.uk :

This had been getting a lot of airplay. The disco infused, guitar heavy music is fantastic, as is the almost gameshow theme tune-like positive stuff. But I'm especially fond of some of the slower more gentle tracks. Heck...I just like the whole album, period!

I agree again. The blend of the punk rock parts with the orchestral and disco stuff is perfect. Never heard before in an animation series. Too bad it didn't play in the US, only in Europe

I'm glad the cd is good.
Haven't got it yet but I'm planning to shortly.

The only thing that is bugging me a bit is that the cues have been combined to longer ones.
I liked the Loga-rhythme cd that had all the individual short cues.

how is the cd concerning that?
Is the combination good?
I mean they're trying to make a musical form in the tracks (e.g slow-fast-slow etc.), or they combined similar cues together? (slow-slow, fast-fast etc.)

(I'm always talking about the original recording cd. Not the re-recording one)

This was a limited release so could be sold out already...

The tracks are combined according to emotion. The love, romantic type cues are together on one track, the happy themes on another track, the sad, tragic themes on another and so on...but the action themes are mostly separate tracks. The combined tracks are mostly orchestral...

I think this is how the composers had originally intended it because everything fits very well. This CD is light years ahead compared to the one by Loga-Rythme.

Well, I just got my cd (a bit late). (the original one)

While the cardboard case is very elegant, I wish it was in a regular jewel case, because this will deteriorate fast! (already one edge has been unglued a bit, and it was new sealed)

By the way, does anyone hear a glitch at 6.21' at track 10 (Romantic/Love theme)? frown
I guess there wouldn't be a replacement programme for that, although other labels have replaced cds with similar glitches.
Also, I did a very rough comparison with the Loga Rhyme cd, and apart from the Shuki Levy tracks that aren't in the cd, there are some Crocket ones too.
All the tracksfrom LR that are missing from this release are:
1, 2, 6, 7, 12, 13, 19, 20, 23, 32, 33, 35-38, 40-43.

here's a more detailed, but still rough, comparison (i mean some tracks in the Loga Rhyme are edited, missing starts, ends etc.):

I talked to the person who produced this and seems there was some deterioration/damage on the tape so this could be the cause of the problem you talk about. And yes, I also hear it but it doesn't bother me that much.

And from what I hear all material has now been found, both Crockett/Egan as well as Saban/Levy so a new complete release might be a possibility. Certainly a 2 CD set!

Maybe Lalaland would be interested in this as they're releasing "Masters of the Universe"?

well the glitch sounds like a cd authoring error, not a damage on the original tape.

Where did you hear this?
Although I thought the reason the Saban/Levy material didn't make it the cd was licencing reasons, not that they hadn't found the tapes.

By the way, if they do make a new set, I hope all cues are individual tracks.
That way is far easier to find a cue you're interested in and not searching inside a track.

As I understand it, the music on the CD you bought is a mix of tracks from 2 reel to reel tapes intended for a vinyl LP album release in 1981. At the time this CD was produced, they only had this edited tape to work with but not the originals. Now they seem to have found both originals.

I simply wrote to the e-mail address at the back of the booklet!

Saban's tape(s) for Ulysses were rumored to be destroyed or damaged to the point of being useless but seems they found the original Saban/Levy tape for Ulysses 31 from 1981 but I have no idea in what condition.

Anyway, a 2 CD release is certainly an option because all of the music with Saban/Levy would fill more than 130 minutes.

All cues individually would probably be over 100 tracks! I think they will probably put 2 cues on each track totaling 50 tracks although I did not ask them about this.
