Yeah, we (montages.no) did a news story on that a couple of days ago. Could be very interesting. I can see her voice meshing with the M83 sound.

This actually plays over the films end credits

It's a beautiful song carried by Sundfør's unique voice.

If you like Kate Bush, you might like some of Sundfør's own work, like the hit "White Foxes":

"StarWaves" is more of a Trapanese influenced cue while this End Credits track definitely sounds more M83 influenced.

I'm with you losher, this is a 'buy at first opportunity' score.

Another fine song. I also like their cover of Depeche Mode's "Ice Machine" (which I actually prefer over the original):

Wow, just stumbled onto this thread and knew nothing coming in. So glad I did. All these references and styles are right up my alley and the samples, Oblivion and otherwise, are totally rad. Going to have to bookmark this thread to return to all these great suggestions! Thanks all! Can't wait for the score!

By the power of Thor, I command this thread to ARISE!

The score album is streaming, at least for now, here: https://collider.com/oblivion-score-m83-stream/

Alternate link: http://mashable.com/2013/04/04/stream-the-oblivion-soundtrack/

Haven't had a chance to listen yet, so no opinion per se.

I love it! It's strongly reminiscent of Tron Legacy which I also loved and felt was one of the strongest scores of its release year.

Chris.

Kaya Savas, the founder of Film, Music & Media where I'm a score reviewer, just reviewed Oblivion with a 4/5 rating. Here's the link to the review:

Big M83 fan and I'm sure the score will serve the film well. But as a listening experience that I would purchase so far it's jut not working for me. I suspected that would be the case, it's not a knock against the work or anything... still looking forward to the film.

Except for the first four and last six words, I concur.

That´s a relief ("strong themes") since I was afraid of dancefloor droning.

I haven't heard any real thematic material to be honest, though I haven't given it a super-detailed listen. Sounds to me like a combination of Tron: Legacy and the first two scores for the "Mass Effect" series of video games.

The strings in particular are very much Tron, while the use of electronic pulses mirrors ME, though that certainly wasn't the first place they were heard. There's definitely a real orchestra in there, and it's definitely not "dancefloor" but I'm not sure I'd hail it as anything other than a solid effort.

I listened to the advanced streaming of the soundtrack...and I enjoyed the heck out of it. I will most definitely be picking this one up when it is released. It has some Tron Legacy feel to it, but does it's own thing.
