I wonder if the music will sound this good on the blu ray? I don't believe there is an isolated score track on the Blu-ray. I'm really asking if the music sounds this good in the movie proper and not as an isolated 'extra'. Thanks

Raksin is extraordinary, but sadly doesn't seem to sell - except for Laura, which is a whole different ball of wax, due to the classic and iconic nature of the film and its theme. But I would do any Raksin and we've got more coming. Thanks for the new LAURA! I hope that BIGGER THAN LIFE will be among the Raksins which will come from Kritzerland in future. Can we expect it from your label, Bruce? And is there any chance that the Raksin scores for the Preminger movies FALLEN ANGEL, DAISY KENYON, WHIRLPOOL have still survived at Fox? And of course CARRIE from Paramount would be magnificent. We're looking at everything Forever Amber?

Wow! Bruce, could you hold a copy until my next payday, Febr. 15th? If I can order before then, I certainly will. What a wonderful release.

I recall a controversy about the old issue (coupled with JANE EYRE on "Fox Records Marketed and Distributed by Arista Records," 1993). Raksin was disappointed that they omitted some material he would have included. Did this involve decayed audio sources or was it a question of deliberate electronic distortion for creative effect? We have about ten minutes more of the score and all of it is grand. The previous release was taken from a tape in the Len Engel collection - our release is from original elements.

And we always have to thank Nick Redman for making these possible and Mike Matessino for doing his usual stellar work. And Julie Kirgo for her wonderful liner notes.
