Wonder if this swill sound like RANGO?

Most accurate typo EVER.

I am curious what Zimmer came up with, but I am not holding my breath. I am not a fanboy, but I am not a hater either. I can't think of another effort that he has worked on that was a western.

RANGO. Oddly, from the same star and director.

If THE LONE RANGER's score is even half as delightful as the track "Rango Suite", it's already one of the year's finest in my book.

I'd also like to add that I think his scores for Sherlock Holmes have a bit of a Morricone-Western sound to them -- this might be a good indication of what to expect in The Lone Ranger.

And don't forget "Parlay" from PotC: At World's End. For my money, one of Zimmer's best pieces...

The score is being released digitally on July 2 according the Film Music Reporter. They've also posted a tracklist:

1. Never Take Off the Mask (1:08)
2. Absurdity (4:58)
3. Silver (4:00)
4. Ride (4:17)
5. You’ve Looked Better (3:09)
6. Red’s Theater of the Absurd – Pokey LaFarge and the South City Three (3:02)
7. The Railroad Waits for No One (3:09)
8. You’re Just a Man in a Mask (4:14)
9. For God and for Country (4:53)
10. Finale (9:51)
11. Home (6:55)

I wonder if Intrada's physical disc will have more music?

IIRC Intrada's release of the Avengers was longer than the digital release. I don't recall how much longer, but I thought there was at least one bonus track not available on the digital album. So with any luck the Intrada release will be longer, along with being a pressed CD of course.

So, Intrada is finally releasing "Lone Ranger" - not the one by John Barry, but the one by Hans Room. frown

A few minutes of the film were before Man of Steel as a preview, which were reminiscent of the train sequence of Indy III beginning. The music sounded like taken directly from Pirates

Have no interest in Zimmer score, but just interesting, is it possible that Intrada release TWO Ranger scores: 1st - from Zimmer & his composers and 2nd - from Maestro Barry?
I heard that there is rumor that someone works with Barry's Lone Ranger. And it was in February...

Oh, I misread and thought it said June 23.

I'll hold out for the Intrada CD.

Apparently, Zimmer did "unspeakable things" to his neighbor's vintage Train to record percussion samples.

I'm very curious to hear these effects...

More precisely John (or Jim) Room.
Whining already?

If it is anything like Rango then I'll pass. That score did nothing for me.

I am surprised.

Am I turning into a Hans Zimmer fan again?

I LOVE these samples! (even if there´s a bit of "Sherlock Holmes"-copying in it)

No surprise that the only good music on the album is not by Zimmer.

My heart bleeds for the orchestra musicians who have to play this drivel, even if it's a wee bit more ... (No, I can't bring myself to say "interesting"). I guess when they're done with the day's sessions they're heading to the next pub and get sloshed.

Dang! I prefer that cover art. Ah well, I'm just glad that gone are the days when we ONLY got an "inspired by" album with one measly score track at the end. big grin

Here's another new trend - rerecorded trailer music.

http://amzn.to/155D0T7

There was a similar one for Man of Steel.

Fascinating. I wish more movies would do that.

It won't be the same without the William Tell Overture which ended the TV show every time. I always loved when I was a child.

Now I do not expect them to use this. Would be a nice touch
