Eh, not sure this question is allowed, my apologies if not.

How does the Varese store fill in the customs form? SAE always think of us outside the US by "correcting" the price so that we don't get hit by a huge customs bill. Does Varese do this as well? I haven't ordered from their store before and looking at that sale I likely will and the sum will be near 80-100 dollars, not counting shipping charges.

I bought a couple of the sale titles during the first 20% off sale. (Gathering of Eagles and Midway) Spartacus is now in my cart as it is the only in print Varese Club title I don't own.

Varese do things by the book and fill the merchandise information correctly so if you're getting some goodies in the sale, don't go crazy and do a few small orders instead of one big order that will attract the eyes of the customs man. For big orders, I would go to one of the other retailers. Learn from my mistakes wink

That's a shame, the shipping to Europe is rather high so I don't think I would make a lot of money by ordering several times. With the shipping and customs, I think the North and South sets would end up being cheaper if I buy them from SAE.

Very exciting that Varese is starting to do this - a good way for them to try to rotate out a lot of stock that might be sitting. Hoping the club release of Scream rotates on here, which I have been somewhat interested but certainly don't value at $20.

If people aren't going to snap up Jerry Goldsmith's wonderfully infectious MR BASEBALL for three dollars - THREE DOLLARS - there's something seriously wrong with the world!

Yeah-infectious-like The Black Death!

You'd have to pay me £3 to listen to that one again-back in the day I bought it 'sight unheard'-what a mistake I made. It may have been suitable for the film-not even sure it was released in the UK-but it was a terrible disappointment on CD.

Really? Around here it gets waaaay more play than THE SAND PEBBLES, THE BLUE MAX or THE WIND AND THE LION!

The film is awful - it went straight to VHS though I recall there was at least one screening at the NFT for some mad reason. I saw it on tape and *hated* it. Fun score nonetheless.

I was actually very pleasantly suprised by Gridiron - it's a really good balance of rah-rah
orchestral and contemporary urban, without going into generic theatrics.
The North album is also very good - I love all those Zapata's!
Gotta pick up the Bernstein's, don't have those yet frown

I just picked up "A Gathering of Eagles" and "Mr. Baseball" - how can you beat these deals?

Already have "Birdman of Alcatraz" but this is a great deal too.

Some excellent titles up for sale, I would grab most of them if I didn't already have. I would be surprised if " Spartacus" goes any lower? I have been playing "Spartacus" a lot lately- a complete Masterpiece!!!

I watch the movie to see Tom Selleck. Going further than that, we have the full seasons of Magnum PI on dvd - need I say more?

I like the movie too!

Just ordered 3 titles from sale-list:

I recommend all the Club titles. Especially the North & South books. Main and End Titles from that mini are among my favourite pieces of music. The Karate Kid was a very welcome reissue, as I missed the box.
The only things on the list I don't yet have are Copperhead and 21 Grams, both of which I shall add in my next order.
Good sale, good stuff.
