really caught off guard by how much I enjoyed this one. the action writing is a lot of fun and enjoyed the themes. nothing groundbreaking but it works

and nice to hear a fender bass in a film score again

The score for the first one was pretty enjoyable.

As for this film, it is too bad that Logan Lerman is losing his hair that young, and too bad that the director made him so metro-sexual looking with his sculpted eyebrows and short haircut. He looked more like a regular kid in the first one, he looks like a model in JCPenney catalog in this one, awful.

Having read all the books in the series. I was actually pretty satisfied with most of the first installment of the film series. One of the highpoints being Christophe Beck's terrific score. Especially in the day and age of droning monotony.

Andrew Lockington is definitely a composer to watch out for and listen to. Have not gotten the score yet, but will be soon. If his "Journey" scores are any indication, his debut to PERCY JACKSON should be pretty damn good...

To be continued.

I actually prefer the 'boring' US cover art to the garish European cover, although I won't be paying the 15 dollar Amazon post costs for it!
Neither cover looks that great. And to think my lovely JOS releases got some stick recently!!
