I really enjoy looking at Sheetmusicman's covers and fail to see why there is any controversy about them being posted to the main board. They certainly don't stop me finding other threads and usually they fall down the board pretty quickly.
I want to thank Sheetmusicman for taking the time and trouble to scan and post these covers so that they are available to those of us who are interested.

Among the reasons people work on these posts are the ones stated at the top of this thread:
An attempt to share a love of film music. To share a wealth of historic information and imagery. To give a unique insight into the marketing and promotion of film scores and songs by leading and underated composers and songwriters. To provide a fascinating visual gallery of period graphics associated with the marketing of film music. To document an important aspect of film music collecting.
They do it out of a desire to share their curiosity, to help others with a knowledge about what is available. They do it because it helps people who play the piano to track down music to perform.
And they do it to expand the range of conversation about film scores beyond the narrow and well-travelled topics currently in vague. They do it because, to them, it is interesting and fun.
Besides those reasons there is something bigger and more universal.
It is probably isn't very dissimilar to the reasons Recordman scanned and shared all of those great and obscure LP covers. Or why Ray Faiola scanned and shared his amazing collection of Max Steiner sheet music images or Haineshisway posted his beautiful music book cover to Bernard Herrmann's A CHRISTMAS CAROL. It is probably why Jim Doherty bothered to let us know about a Lionel Barrymore/Miklos Rozsa piece called HALLOWEEN. Or why RonBurbella took the time to let us know it was available on a 78rpm set. It is why Tarasis stepped away from the rest of his day to inform us of a DR. WHO concert on the BBC. Or why Morricone bothered to clue us in on the upcoming Academy Awards score concert. It is probably why TheFamousEccles let us know about a REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE set of lyrics called "Secret Doorway." Or why Jim Phelps created an "In Praise of Geoffrey Burgon thread. Or why RobPrince reached out to tell us about an Easy Piano Selection music book of THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF THE BROTHERS GRIMM. Or why Bob DiMucci requested 32 different composers sheet music covers and then took the time to check them off when "done." Or why George Komar informed us of the Jerome Moross Centennial. Or why Nipotente linked us to a YouTube video of a piano cover version of the Theme to OH GOD or DavidinBerkeley tracked down a swinging Rozsa/Mel Torme version of SPELLBOUND and gave us the link to listen.
The reasons are tied to something even bigger than message boards
It probably isn't very dissimilar from the reasons Elmer Bernstein started his Film Music Collection or Peter Hackman and his volunteers put on an annual Fans of Film Music event. It is probably why the folks at LaLaLand and Varese and Intrada and Kritzerland and Tadlow and Music Box and Monsterous Movie Music put in so many hours to put out soundtracks of wildly obscure scores designed for a very limited audience. It is probably connected to why David Newman puts in so much passion, time and sweat to create film music concerts with the American Youth Symphony or Christopher Lennertz corralled 25 composers to write the Symphony of Hope. Or why John Debney and Michael Giacchino take the time to meet with fans and sign autographs and answer questions. It is probably why people put in long and crazy hours to present film music festivals around the world. And why fans share train fares and hotel rooms to help each other attend.
It is probably for the same reason a young Lukas Kendel started self-publishing a film music fan newsletter out of his college dorm room that eventually because Film Score Monthly whose message board has hosted all these conversations.
So many of us love film music so much that we chip in what we can to add to our community of fellow fans. We care about the topic and we care about the people who share our passions. We have stories to tell and opinions to share and news to break and YouTube clips to post. We have photos of composers to imbed and images of long-forgotten LP jackets to dust off and present. And, yes, we even have piles of sheet music covers that people want to help to bring to Show-And-Tell and present as a gift to the rest of the class.

Thank you for your suggestions. We have definitely considered them.
The perceived downsides would be:
1. Posting of actual sheet music would be a copyright violation whether done here on a separate site.
2. Even if the cover images/information were hosted on a separate site, the thread on this board about that site with regular updates regarding new additions would still show up here in the same way any other thread/update does now. Not clear how that would address anyone’s concerns.
3. A thread called “Soundtracksheetmusic.com UPDATE” or “Soundtracksheetmusic.com-MICHAEL SMALL UPDATE” is still going to show up on the message board in the same manner as the current version of creating a thread called “NEW- Sheet Music- MICHAEL SMALL” Any time any version of these would appear there would still be be some new or updated thread line about Sheet Music at the top of the Message Board so nothing would be really be gained in doing so.
Assuming someone is generally not interested in Sheet Music, they would be skipping “Soundtrackssheetmusic.com UPDATE” or “Soundtrckssheetmusiccom-MICHEAL SMALL UPDATE” or “NEW Sheet Music-MICHAEL SMALL in the same way.
4. Since an update to Soundtracksheetmusic.com on this board doesn’t change it showing up as an update on this board anyway, we have decided to provided the more detailed version listing the composer’s name in the topic line. That way someone interested in Michael Small would have more information to know to read that thread than having to open a generic “Sheet Music Update” topic line to then see who it is about. Since it doesn’t create any more or less space on the first page of the message board anyway, we have chosen to add the additional info of whom the update is about.
5. In terms of where the images and information is hosted (on this site or a separate site and/or blog) the current decision to host them on the board doesn’t do anything to increase or decrease the amount of topic line listings. We have decided to currently continue hosting the images and information on this site to make it easier for those who wish to view it to see it without having to click over to another site. For example, if somewhere were to read “NEW Sheet Music Man- MICHAEL SMALL” on the board’s topic listings, and they were interested they could click on it and see the images right away. They could also comment directly on the tread without having to go elsewhere and then come back to this site. For those who read “NEW Sheet Music Man- MICHAEL SMALL” on the board’s topic listing and are not interested in Sheet Music in general or Michael Small specifically, they would just skip the whole thread and it wouldn’t matter if the images were on this site, on another site/blog or didn’t exist in the first place.
6. Doing it in this manner also allows for these treads to be show up more easily and specifically during searches. Someone interested in all things Michael Small could enter his name in the FSM Message Board search and see there was a thread clearly labeled about his sheet music. This would allow them to either go to it directly if they were interested or know to skip it if that was not an area of their interest.
7. The separate issue of too many threads being posted at the same time has been addressed which will hopefully take care of some other concerns.
Like with almost everything, there have been opinions posted by others about both the pros and cons of doing it the way you have suggested and about continuing listing them as we have. No choice pleases everyone. It isn’t out of any disrespect to you or anyone else that we have chosen not to go the direction you have suggested at this time in favor of the opinions expressed by others who want us to continue doing it in the current manner.
Sorry for such a detailed answer, but you took the time to respectfully make a suggestion and we wanted you to know that this has been considered, thought out and discussed. And we wanted to provide you with an explanation of why we are doing it this way at this time.

Your questions have been addressed and readdressed. You have made it clear you don't like the answers.
It is fine to disagree, but the manner in which you have elected to do so has been too rude, hostile and attacking to deserve any additional responses now or in the future.
