Well, the MP3 album came out last Tuesday, and the CD comes out 2 days from now. Has anyone heard it? I'm wondering how people feel about this album compared to last season's soundtrack.

Thankfully, this album is a good 12 minutes longer than last season's 46 minutes (though it was quite a nice listening experience).

I’ve only started listening, but I’m loving it.

I listen to both this and PoI 1 as “sound” albums. I don’t really have any musical moments that I remember from any particular episode. It’s just a good sound to have on. It’s really great low, moody, and glowering sounding spy music.

Having said that, High Roller is a standout track. It’s really a hoot.

There’s also some warmer, more emotional material this season because there was more about the characters.

I’d love to hear Djawadi do a Bond. I think my two favorite (new) soundtracks last year were PoI 1 and Pacific Rim.

I at first disliked Djawadi's generic Media Ventures sound, but he seems to have really improved and made his own voice prominent. I have quite enjoyed his music for Game of Thrones, Pacific Rim, and definitely Person of Interest.

Person of Interest Season 2 starts off with Crash of Death, which gets into The Machine's theme by a minute and a half and sets up the mood for the album. Other Persons, er, tracks of interest are Mi Familia (with a nice spanish flair), Shaw (which has a feeling of kicking butt and a sense she can get things done), the somber Prisoner's Dilemma, High Roller (which, as mentioned above, is a lot of fun), I Always Told Cal To Be Careful (ominous in tone with tragedy imminent), and the final 7-and-1/2-minute piece God Mode (which has the machine's theme/ostinato in 5/8 timing).
Overall, I found it a bit better than the season 1 score and at 58 minutes, it's a good 12 minutes longer than the previous album. Plus, this one also contains the specific themes for Shaw, Lionel, and HR. If you enjoyed the first score release, you probably won't regret grabbing the second as well.

I liked the first season of this show - but the second season got me absolutely hooked.

I´ve discovered the music for both seasons now, and I think Djawadi has created one of the best tv scores that are around now. Really glad I gave this score a chance.

Like the show, the second season score branches out and builds on the achievements of season 1.
