It's interesting to see how many episodes that were on the old Truth and the Light compilation still haven't appeared in the LLL sets.

(see here for the breakdown: http://www.eatthecorn.com/dossiers/thetruthandthelight.htm).

That old album still stands out remarkably well as a music/spoken word piece in capturing the flavor of the early seasons of the show. Running across the odd piece of music that was on those albums on these new sets is like seeing an old friend again. So I'd vote to include some of these extra pieces from say Shapes, Humbug and Oubliette in addition to the other suggestions.

Chris.

It's a great release, no doubt, But I was Let down by the fact that my favourite music moments from Gethsemane and Deadalive were not covered.

1st opening scene with Helicopter (after the credits)
and 2nd when Scully visits Mulder at the hospital and cries over him.

I want to believe they might be included in V3

Got the set today - Thank you MV and your team, and thanks also to Mark Snow to make this possible. My dream of available XF music come more and more true.

After listening to the DeadAlive tracks my wish for more "This Is Not Happening" is bigger than ever smile The uncut version of the final speak between Jeremiah and Scully would by great, this would me so dramatic and amazing with the epic finale smile Sorry for this overwhealving comment ;-)

Some updates to my request list:

- Conduit
- Ice
- Shadows (teaser is a must)
- Gender Bender (Prominent use of the that great two note horn motif throughout: Scully meets the Kindred, pets the horse/chase sequence at the end, one of the best cues from the whole series)
- Darkness Falls (the "waiting" theme that plays during the tense nights in the cabin, and the final cue with M&S in the military hospital)
- Oubliette (highlights from Truth & the Light and more)
- Wetwired (Scully goes cray in her hotel room)
- Unusual Suspects (X's team cleans up the warehouse/finale)
- Patient X (Scully meets Cassandra on the bridge/UFO flyover/Rebels start burning people alive)
- Detour (chase theme with tribal percussion and woodwind)
- Roadrunners (the town chases Scully & Dogget down/cutting the worm out of her back)
- Invocation (teaser, "All the Pretty Little Horses")
- Essence
- Audrey Pauley

A reissue of The Truth and the Light, without SFX (even in the bonus cue), would be most welcomed.

Good call!

My top choices would be anything from Agua Mala, The Beginning, The End, and Nothing Important Happened Today. I believe that right now Season 8 is the most underrepresented, totaling roughly 36 min, with Season 9 being 45.

The score from season 8's Salvage has always been a favorite of mine. Snow creates a melancholy piano theme for the monster of the week (mainly chordal) that he develops quite a bit throughout the episode. The entire ending "wrap-up" sequence (starting at 0:41 minutes until the end credits) would make a nice single track. I get chills just thinking about this cue!

Something just occurred to me. The pilot episode didn't feature the title theme... was the credits music an original work or was it sourced from elsewhere in the episode?

The End Credits Music was used in the Pilot during the Interrogation of Billy Miles near the End of the Episode, after Mulder and Scully catched him in the Woods trying to abduct a girl. It was also featured (maybe in some slightly varied form) in the Track "On the Waterfront & Suspended Max" (CD 1, Track 9, X Files Volume 1) starting at 05:15 to the End.

Here are some Ideas from me for the 3rd Volume.

@orodromeus: Maybe you can use them for your Massive Music Compilation List to update it smile

X1-01 DEEP THROAT

16:04 - 18:06
Mulder and Scully watching Lights over Ellens Air Base, then follow two Teenagers that leave the base and catch them, while a helicopter is chasing them all

28:06 - 32:57
Mulder and Scully talking about the case, Mulder steals away and infiltrates Ellens Air Base. He see's a spacecraft and gets caught by MPs

33:13 - 34:35
Scully tries to call Washington D.C., Mulder under drugs sees a spacecraft in a hangar before passing out

40:05 - 43:29
Mulder and Scully arguing in front of the Budahas House, Scully writing her Field-Report, Mulder on Cider Track and Meeting with Deep Throat (They are here aren't they - Mr. Mulder they have been here for a long, long time).

I think these pieces capture the most important motifs of this episode. Would be great if some (or in the best Case all) would be considered for the third Volume.

Borrowing, Nightwalker's formatting, here's a detailed suggestion for Never Again

X4-13 Never Again

28:34 - 32:15: Scully gets tattooed. This cue sounds like nothing else in Snow's X-files oeuvre. Maybe this is intentional to drive home how out of character Scully is in this episode? He makes use of a very interesting new-agey synth texture that sounds like an echoey electric sitar. It's stuck with me since the first time I viewed the episode back in the 90s.

39:05 - 42:03: Scully and Ed fight. A very aggressive action cue featuring synth guitars I think and orchestra hits. Again, it has a fairly unique sound amongst Snow's work. You can hear the audio from this latter clip here (thanks to the person that originally uploaded the clip): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IplilvJe7rQ

The "Vampires" catch their first Victim.

03:21 - 5:04 = 1:43
