So you are the GOD of film music who decides that other's people's 'rainbow' is made of piss? Adam likes Tyler's music but he's wrong because...you say so? People like what they hear from those 30-second samples from 'The Book Thief' but they are stupid for doing so because you say so? I'm all for healthy debate but this is not it. And please tell me you don't belong to 'the cult of Jerry'?
Have you heard of the phrase "one man's jewel is another's crap"?
I don't decide since I can't put you in brainwash machine when you disagree with me. But I have my opinions of you and your taste.
Live with it.
BTW, feel free to say anything bad of Jerry. I like his music but I don't care what you think.
So you've already made your opinion about me and my taste? Then you saw that Goldsmith is/was one of my favorite composers, right? I just don't worship him like some people do.
I didn't know you and your taste. But after knowing that you like Goldsmith, I applaud that you have good taste.
About this topic...Tyler continues to grow as a composer for me.
Yes. He has a good feel for action movies and the occasional non-blockbuster movie. I've enjoyed the first two Expendables and even warmed up to his Rambo score which I at first wasn't won over with. I have the outmost respect for his percussion and drum playing which I find first rate. People tend to take that for granted with all the sampled percussion heavy scores these days, but I appreciate it. "Now You See Me" theme is still playing in my head and was the best thing about that movie.
I know Tyler has been picked for a lot of action pictures, and that's okay. However, I'd love to see him compose a score similar to The Greatest Game Ever Played. That is one thematic, gorgeous score.
Great news to hear that Tyler will be completing the trilogy of Expendables films.Hes the modern day master of action movie music just as Goldsmith was.Cant wait!
