What's the other one? Black Rain?

Yes.

Regarding Henry is an amazing under appreciated gem of a score. I do think it is mostly complete already save for a few alternates. And YES please save Rain Man from Perseverances abomination of a release. I bought it and haven't played it since I heard it when I bought it. Seriously they robbed everyone who bought it from them.

Not me. I found the Rain Man release to be very nice.

Now I want BIRD ON A WIRE with the song performed by The Neville Brothers.

I hope Chief Michael V. will realize my dream. smile

BOAW had been incredible. I remember loving the score after I saw the film in 1990, and hating the fact that there was no soundtrack release. I have an "unmentionable", but I of course hope for an official one with artwork and liner notes!

A BOAW release should also include Zimmer's arrangement of the Aquarius piece from Hair. I can do without the Neville Brothers song though, I can't stand his voice, and I hated it even more when it played on the end credits instead of the score, LOL!!!

We do have some Zimmer projects planned for 2014. I can tell you this -- it won't be any of his Batman scores or the Last Samurai though. Mr Zimmer is very happy with the current albums that are available and feels they do not need to be expanded in any way at this time.

Yeah! Listen to the Zimster!

The release was nice, but the sound quality obviously left a lot to be desired. Then again, they worked with what they had, so it's hard to criticize -- unless one thinks a score should be totally unreleased untill the best-sounding source materials are found.

That's funny when he wanted to actually make the CS available for the 3 Batman scores "somehow" last year when TDKR was "hot"... Never happened in the end... One day maybe...

About Rain Man, HZ told me he never heard the P. Records (horrible) release. He confirmed he has the master tapes "somewhere in [his] mess" but was never going to dig them out at that time. He's still not exactly willing to do so but it will happen in the future.

You guys should take a look at some things like Toys, A League Of Their Own, True Romance or The Fan... big grin

A proper score-centric release of TOYS would be very welcome. It's a fascinating, horrible mess of a film but the soundtrack played an unusually important role and was a big highlight among the nonsense. "The Closing of the Year" is one of Zimmer's most attractive pieces. There's an instrumental version floating around somewhere, but hopefully any new release would have both that and the film version.

Another vote for Toys. Fascinating failure, as Mike suggested, but they still play the music at malls during Christmas. Well, they did as of the mid-2000s.

Agreed on Toys, it was one of those scores that really stood out for me and I've hoped for an expanded form for a long time, along with the film versions of some of the songs.

The instrumental version is on the Closing Of The Year CD-single.

The Fan would be great! Have the original soundtrack with the 20min suite. Great stuff, kinda like Hans Zimmer meets Trent Reznor. Would buy an expanded version in a heartbeat. As for True Romance, does it feature enough music for a release? If I remember correctly there isn't that much score in that film. Wonderful score though!

I remember reading that he wanted to do expanded releases of all three Batman scores around the time DKR came out. I'm sure I read that "It will happen". Ah well.

While I wouldn't mind seeing expanded Batman scores, I do think that the existing albums are very good. Zimmer does a good job of putting together suites to make a very listenable album.

League of their Own is probably my most wanted Zimmer score now.

Yeah, the couple of tracks on the song album for True Romance pretty much cover it.

Wait a minute - it's now past the ten year barrier for POTC and you didn't rule out that one, even though it's highly popular. eek
Please tell me I'm just having a wet android's dream, it's completely out of the question and not coming at all, otherwise I might just explode out of sheer joy ...

Got DOT today (LA to DC in only two days!) and it's brilliant. I didn't realize how ingrained this score had become until I listened and recognized every moment. Thanks LLL for this gift to a grateful 12 year old :-)
