This is not a good sign of what is ahead for this film Review: The laden 'Man of Steel' doesn't soar Associated PressBy JAKE COYLE | Associated Press – 4 hours ago Why is it a bad sign? It's one review made by one person. Indeed, this movie's currently on the positive side over at Rotten Tomatoes. It's 54% with top critics and that sucks. Btw...I saw it tonight. It's godawful. Btw... would it be possible for you to use more than the word "godawful" to describe your opinion? And I mean, in this thread. In the other you just repeatedly posted "it sucked".

If you'd like me to go in-depth into why I thought it was so horrible, I'd be happy to. However, I also don't want to spoil it for a lot of people here who haven't seen it yet. So which is it?

It is all just opinions... Your "godawful" is another persons masterpiece. The movie doesn't officially start until Friday, so I just suggest that we all keep our spoilers and plot points to ourselves until after the weekend. Let's keep this place a spoiler-free zone! Oh yeah? It's gotten VERY mediocre reviews thus far. Keep telling yourself it's going to be a masterpiece and I'll keep trying to forget what I saw (and heard) last night. My advice: bring Advil.

No everything in the cosmos is relative and subjective. I mean under that I could argue that every Oscar winner is a terrible film. I could argue that - but I would be - wrong. You could argue that but most critics would disagree with you. Same thing here.

I listened through the whole score and the quieter moments are actually quite nice. Zimmer has always done better at them than his full on action material. I will say music appreciation is very subjective. Just look at the Ichon thread where some people don't think the music is all that great. And that's Goldsmith from his amazing period of score output. I can appreciate Zimmer's approach and thought process towards MOS. he's posted a lot on a music forum I am a part of but somewhere in his execution did he derail to my ears. Too much bombast and layering of sounds in the same frequency range which gives the music a washed out homogenous sound. Pity because some full orchestral arrangements would have treated his thematic material better than it got.

Please don´t spoil it. I had hoped that you could say more without going into too much detail. But then - let´s wait a few weeks. I just wonder: since you appear to really enjoy hating the film - is that because you hate Superman, Nolan or both?

The reviews have talked me out of bothering with it till at least BluRay rental time. It is really irritating when people say this; "It is all just opinions... Your "godawful" is another persons masterpiece." No everything in the cosmos is relative and subjective. I mean under that I could argue that every Oscar winner is a terrible film. I could argue that - but I would be - wrong. Your right...NOT everything is relative and subjective. But when it comes to movies and music...everything IS subjective. You like every movie you have ever seen? Me either...and I bet the ones you like and the ones I like don't match up perfectly. Your opinion and mine are going to differ. Art in any form is subjective. Really? Name your top 5.

Hans Zimmer will be on the radio program "Soundcheck" on WNYC in New York (93.9 FM) tomorrow (Thursday, June 13th at 9 p.m. ET)... preceded by a phone chat with yours truly covering previous musical treatments for the Superman character. Some other public radio stations will pick up the show but it will also stream and be available for download on at WNYC.org. Mike M.

So, no cross-talk with Zimmer, where we would get to hear you pushing aside your mic and rushing him, saying, "Why you German son of a bitch, you son of a bitch!"

If you like your films charmless, humorless, devoid of interesting or likeable characters and really, really loud, then feel free to love Man of Steel. It's a Transformers movie without Shia to make it appealing.

If that´s the case I would be severely disappointed.
