Does Jones just want to do these himself on his label (at a slow pace that can be outrun by a snail) and gets annoyed being asked, or is he just not nice in general?

Look at where his career ended up. He's the only composer I've ever known to be (rumored) tossed off a movie lot and spoken rather poorly by those in the industry. Shame too because he was a helluva composer

I'm going to jump into this thread. I'm enjoying it so much, and MV is being so generous with his info. I have 3 grails left, and I wonder of there are any chances: THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN (Filmation 1966) by John Marion, GILLIGAN'S ISLAND by Johnny Williams, Frank Comstock, Gerald Fried, and YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, by John Morris.

Have any of those ever been looked at or considered?

Mike

MV any chance of a Morricone release, 'The Untouchables' was simply great. 'Once Upon A Time In America and the West from LLL would be simply brilliant.

MV, can you please be so kind and shed some light on the "Cliffhanger" miracle then?
Would be interesting to know why this release was possible after all - even twice!

He didn't have the tapes.

MV

That explains why FREEJACK isn't happening anytime soon.
If Trevor Jones has the tapes in his possession.

How mean is Mr. Jones?

No offense but it's clear he burnt all his bridges. How "mean" he is really isn't important to the questions at hand.

Thanks for your open words, MV.
That answers a lot of questions of mine.

Still I can feel nothing but gratitude towards Mr. Jones for all the joy he has brought into my life!

BTW I'd never have thought that we'd end up with so many interesting insights when this thread got started.
Of course the credit goes to MV for his tremendous patience with our questions! Thank you!

I didn't want to assume the worst of him. Look where Barry's career ended up, barely doing anything and walking off or getting thrown off pictures. Wasn't the surly Herrmann having a tought time at the end? Rosenman was asked to make changes to a score, walked away, hopped in his fancy car, and drove off the studio lot, but he worked regularly after that.

I mean, every situation is different, perhaps he's just had a bad hand dealt to him in later years before he disappeared. I just want to give some benefit of the doubt.

I know there's one composer, for example, who had some rejections, scored less and less then simply disappeared from the scoring world simply because of temp tracks and the situations that arose because of them.

Here's one: When's a good time to make a suggestions thread for the 4 disc wrap up collection for the Star Trek TV shows?

What are the chances of a re-release of the Thunderbirds Are Go/Thunderbird 6 cd? I'm sure I'm not the only one to let an essential purchase slip by even though they're clearly marked LIMITED EDITION! I was stunned when I found out it was sold out and looking on Amazon seeing someone wanting in excess of £100.

But I guess that's life!

Filmation stuff can't be found

JW Gilligan's Island material can't be found. This is a tricky project involving 3 licensors and may make it impossible to produce

Sadly, Young Frankenstein can't be found either

From what I hear another label tried and was shot down. Sad thing is he won't release them himself either

Hi MV!

Can you answer "financial" questions from me? wink

Do you have any plans for huge (6+ CDs) & expensive editions for this year?
And another one - will you take part in any Con events this year? I mean - should we prepare for some comics-related titles this summer? wink

Thanks

After the Danny Elfman Batman collection,
and the John Williams Jurassic Park collection
wouldn't it be time for...

The Shirley Walker Final Destination collection?

Nothing more than 100.00 and no for comic titles. Done for those for now. Maybe 2018
