Well they got back to me and they’re sending out a replacement, which is cool. It’s somehow Fedex to blame for not scanning it or something. Very weird.
Not sure what happened there but it looks like I got it sorted.
Are the black and white photos in the Nocturne booklet supposed to have red lines through them? Or is it a printing defect?
Also, the color photo on page 6 of the John Badham notes booklet.... is it supposed to have an image superimposed on it, or is that another printing error?
Just listened to this. While not necessarily surprising, it was cool to hear Matessino say that maestro Williams himself asked about finding better elements for this score to present it with improved sound. Wonderful interview.
Can't wait to hear parts 2 & 3. Thanks for sharing!

Well, I hope so, because if it doesn't get to you soon, it will be sacrilege, sacrilege!
(I know I know, enough with the stupid jokes already. I'm such a bad dog.)

Your booklets are fine. I think it's got a red flush to it to make it look arty. A hint of blood, maybe?...
Sorry to ask again, but here are two photos that are weird. I'm a stickler for near perfection in my physics media, and am wondering if this is normal?
What is happening behind Langella's head and on his face? Double exposure around the panaflex camera.
See the red vertical lines streaking Kate Nelligan's bust?

I assumed the red streaks throughout the booklet's photos were part of the design. But there is something odd about the Langella group pic. Amongst other things, his shirt seems to show some kind of superimposed image.

There is a file error on that image that caused the ghosting of another image. Purely an accident.
All the b/w images throughout the package have a red blood-soaked effect that is intentional. I don't understand how it can look like splotches or some kind of error.
Huge improvement with the sound on the original album. There is now some real definition and sharpness to the music which was completley buried on the original Varese disc. I honestly could never really make it past 'To Scarborough' on the Varese. It was just too fatiguing to listen to. Now its a joy to listen to the entire album and to a degree hearing some passages like they're brand new. Great release.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the LP track The Abduction of Lucy sounds different to me now because the descending propulsive theme in the low strings turns out to be that missing Van Helsing theme we never heard before.
Willling to be proved wrong but that’s what I hear now.
Just got mine yesterday..Its a masterpiece and for me among Williams finest work.So great to finaly hear the missing tracks. Thanks Varese.Keep them coming!!!!
... finally received my "fee to pay" card ... £14.20 customs charge ... will get some exercise and wander up there after I've have a cuppa. Should have the damn thing in my grubby little mitts in the next hour or two. Oy.

I picked mine up yesterday morning. As long as the discs actually play, nobody has anything to complain about, red bloom (come on, it’s a Dracula film, is that really going to be some kind of coincidence?), superimposed images, iniquitous customs charge or any other damn thing else. This is the best film score cd purchase I can remember making in years.
Congratulations, Mike M - it lives up to everything that you tantalised us with in London.
I wish to heck there was a separate thread to talk about the wonderful music we’ve just been allowed to hear, as opposed to shipping irregularities, customs costs, and perceived printer defects with the booklets.
