New York City NY: I bought Intrada’s Limited CD Edition of Harry and the Hendersons, plus three other items for $1.00. I’ll explain: ARChive of Contemporary Music, or ARC,is this non-for-profit archive and music research center in New York City. Their collection is obtained via donations. Every June and December of each year, they have sales of their collection of used records and CDs, plus books, DVDs, and 12 inch laserdiscs. The June sale started on June 9th and ends on June 17th. I went there for the first day, Saturday June 9th. For soundtrack CDs, worth $3.00 each, there wasn’t a big selection and there wasn’t any I’d be interested in, as I own most of what they had already. However, the one that peaked my interest was Harry and the Hendersons. I had a portable CD player, so, I played the CD. I didn’t like it (wasn’t as good as Young Sherlock Holmes), so, I put it back. Instead, I bought an empty 2-disc jewel case worth $.50. The store didn’t have change, so, I gave a dollar and told the salesperson to keep the change. The salesperson felt bad for the lack of change, so, he gave me two copies of some promo CD of this musician I’ve never heard of. I was like, “Fine. Thank you.” As I walked out, there was a batch of $1.00 CDs and, low and behold, there were two other copies of Harry and the Hendersons. I took one copy to the salesperson and asked if I can trade in the copies of the promo CDs for one copy Harry and he accepted the offer, and I get to keep the Harry CD, but he didn’t take back those promo CD. I figure I can sell the Harry CD on Amazon Marketplace. So, there you have it. One Harry CD, one jewel case, and two unwanted promo CDs for $1.00. Crazy.
