We're all nuts. Almost all film scores are interchangeable, and always were (at least within similar genres). There's no need to hire composers any more. You just need a good music editor and a huge back-catalogue of existing works (no problem - we've got that). Just re-track everything. It worked for old TV shows and Universal B-Movies.

Who the Hell are we fooling? We really should just be listening to Wagner and Stravinsky. Jim Phelps, If this really was the tavern of your dreams where we all sit around drinking and talking about movies, you've now become the guy who stands up an hour past closing time, tie undone, slurring his words, who delivers the "Life is a fraud and I hate my job and house and wife!" speech, full of passion and real feeling. When you finish, we applaud and laugh comically, and you smile, heartbroken, and pretend it was all just a put-on. As we all go back to talking about Horner's thieving, the camera comes in close on you, lost in thought, a sad smile on your lips as you nod, as if you've accepted some harsh truth about the world... Burp.

I have one: What ethnic cleansing was to 1990s former Yugoslavia, Remote Control Productions is to early 21st century film music. Think about it before you get all worked up ...

My controversial film score opinion is that nobody gives a f--k about most people's controversial film score opinion. Of their non-controversial film score opinions, for that matter. Nor do people give a f--k about how you index your itunes library. Or whether you sort your CD collection by title or composer. Or what your favourite score is. Or what your favourite cue is. etc etc etc. I think what most people want to read about is what's coming out. Cheers

I agree, as long as you are not dong harm or damage to somebody, one should be allow to offer their opinion on any issue weather one agrees or not, be it strong or soft, if one speaks and says things are facts not opinions, then one has to be mature enough to be able to take the word fact not opinion from the other person, no matter what you feel about it, if however you feel it would be more intelligent and wise not to use the word fact on creative issues but the word opinion[my opinion] then i feel things will be even more peaceful and honest. But the trouble with this board and i am not trying to create trouble at all, is it is at times bias and unfair[no offense my friend, MR Walsh] i agree with him and he knows it on many issues, but here is a perfect example, people should be able to discuss certain issues of certain people's lives if they wish, and obviously with the Mel Gibson thread this is to a degree allow, so why if someone makes a remark about someone in a film some people really loved a few days a remark is made [mind you a true incident] the person is told never to mention the guy again.
