What i wonder about is why SAE is charging considerably more shipping costs for a multi disc set when there is really not that much difference in weigh and packaging between a single disc and a 2-disc release... the mysteries of the world! But of course that did not stop me from ordering STIII! I agree ... the SAE transport costs are something I wonder about myself ... but this did not stop me either from ordering ST III ... I just ordered from another seller than SAE

Ist class production, I can't believe how good this sounds. This is a fabulous score by James Horner and it finaly gets the release it deserves.

Mine arrived on Friday. I haven't played it yet but it looks perfect. I like the way it makes an exactly matching 3 disc set with TWOK, symbolizing graphically how they belong together musically. And NO top label stuck on with gummy adhesive that never comes off entirely. Not having that crappy glue on the case is a big plus for me. I can't wait for a proper chance to play it.

While I love this release, I unfortunately received a copy that has heavy scratching on both discs. I've been in touch with SAE about a replacement, but I'm meanwhile wondering how many of you have received clean copies? I'd like to get a general idea of what to anticipate, especially since this is two discs with a tray in the middle. Thanks!

Mine was perfectly clean, no scratches, nothing. I'm assuming that yours won't play because of the scratches.

I'm wondering how common damage is since there's more hardware involved. The more material, the better the potential for damage.

That'd be tough. I've tried doing it before for someone else and had no luck, thanks to excessive reflectivity. Sorry

My discs were in perfect condition. However USPS can suck it because they put a hole in the packaging that put a 1 and a 1/2 inch hairline crack into the jewel case. LOL not a big deal, but had the discs or insert been damaged I would have been really upset.

I had a small case crack too which was no big deal. The discs are another story though. Disc 1, in particular, has a circular scratch that can cause serious skipping (especially with older players).

I had a small case crack too which was no big deal. The discs are another story though. Disc 1, in particular, has a circular scratch that can cause serious skipping (especially with older players). I've discovered the same problem with my discs, too. A circular scratch on disc 1 and numerous small scratches on disc 2... very disappointing, and proves your problem is not an isolated incident. I'm playing both discs today and tomorrow, and if there is one skip, SAE will be notified. These are the worst looking discs I've ever received... if they play through, I won't bother SAE. With my luck, the replacements will be the same. Makes one wonder where the QC has gone. Exactly what I've been saying now for months about FSM and Intrada discs and no one seemed to care. The last few Intradas have been better but my Black Sunday is totally scratched. I have to live with it, though, because SAE won't replace any more. Geez, I really look forward to Star Trek III, one of my favourite scores of all time, having the living shit scratched out of it and not being able to do anything about it. Joy. And think of this: Regardless of whether or not they play, these are supposed to be collector's items. No good reason at all that they should have a single scratch on them if all the major label releases I buy, pressed in the multi-thousands, don't. And before someone gets all uppity because I'm dissing FSM and Intrada, I'm not. I love their content more than my favourite meal at my favourite restaurant, just not the current QA at the pressing plants these two labels use.
