It must suck to only enjoy music from one period of time. You should know. Actually TerraEpon would have no idea. I've known him for some time now and even introduced him to a forum for unsung romantic era composers. He has broad taste in orchestral music, so you're really barking up the wrong tree in a very annoying way... Yavar

I too am disappointed but not surprised that Varese issued no golden age cds. Other than the great Herrmann Box I have not ordered any cds from the Club for 3 or 4 years. I've given up on Varese. Yeah, it's seems like the other labels have surpassed Varese in terms of releasing "holy grails" and customer service. Years ago, I use to look forward to the club releases, but now I don't really pay much attention to them... It's good that Varese is re-releasing stuff from their lp days, and making sold-out cd's available again (see the Karate Kid, and the Rozsa Centenary compilation), but I'm still hoping that I'll see something like Fedora, or Starship Troopers... Anway, it's good to see the club has returned and that Varese is increasing the amount of cd's. There was only one "1,000 copies" release in the current batch. -Rex

Oh the old days when there was so little to choose from and we were so happy to get whatever we could get. I don't feel there is any right or wrong here just maybe we should be thankful that we live in a time when we can complain about not getting just about everything. Peace.

Agreed Bruce. You have released some lovely titles this year. I really love The Pleasure of His Company, How Green Was my Valley, and The Miracle Worker. But beyond that, what Golden Age fan would not appreciate Brass Target? The theme is lovely and it sounds wonderful. It is and I did (order that one, only). Still think Joe's point is well taken...

Golden Age is one thing, but also there are very few vintage soundtracks from anywhere but USA and Italy. I also like pop, jazz and beat soundtracks from the 60s and 70s for instance. But as other have mentioned, this batch from Varese, as well as most threads on this forum are very much oriented on one particular period and origin, which happens to be my least favorite. Obviously it's not too polite to write in a new release thread "Not interested, what's next". However, with hundred of posts saying "ordered", "please expand this release X from the 80s" and seeing that even some non-US based labels are releasing more US soundtracks from the 80s than anything else, I feel the minority should have a voice in some way. Certainly, those who say that we should keep silent and wait is also rude.
