On a post a few days ago I said my chances of Varese releasing this as their next club title were 99.999% nil. Never have I been so happy to be utterly wrong. Thanks Varese !

Ah Cody, you are the first person I thought of this morning!

I've always wanted this score too. Ordered! smile

PFK, I feel like James Cagney dancing down the White House steps after meeting with President Roosevelt right near the end of Yankee Doodle Dandy. We both have something to look forward to. My wife looked at me and said "what happened ?"

Wow, sound is FANTASTIC. That love theme really evokes Goldsmith's Thriller period, especially "Hay Fork and Bail Hook"...

GREAT Goldsmith title!

I have to reiterate what the check out says. Please wait 2-3 weeks AFTER the ship date before inquiring about your orders if at all possible. That way Varese can literally spend EVERY second during the business day shipping orders instead of answering emails and looking up orders and all of that groovy stuff!

I can't wait to get this bad boy smile

I've heard about this score for ages, but perusing the available clips is the first time I've actually listened to it...wow, what a score! eek This is mono? Sounded pretty stereo-ized and crisp and vibrant on my headphones. I will probably order this along with one or two VC sale discs to save on shipping.

Came in to post basically the exact same thing, so thanks for saving me some letters Jack. smile

Personally, I don't mind if it's in mono, but I wish the press release had been more clear about it either way. What's to hide?

Amazing. Totally ordered. I remember a really cool equestrian cue (Beagles and Fox?) similar to The Hunt from Final Conflict.

Anything/everything regarding technical aspects of any release. Part of their business plan, apparently. It's a pass for me. Music sounds like a cross between TOM JONES and STUDS LONIGAN.

Because for a lot of FSMers, "mono" means "no sale", regardless of how good the sound quality is. I do wish Varese would specify in their ad copy, though...all of the other labels do.

99% of the time I will turn down a mono release. But the samples sound awesome to me.

Why no mono? Did you purchase Goldsmith's Lonely Are The Brave? Tremendous score and great release!

Wonderful news. Also very happy that it's a previously unreleased 1960's score instead of something expanded from the '90s.

Usually the sonics are just to low. Don't recall ever sampling "LATB".

Highly recommend Varese's Lonely Are The Brave if it's still available. Great sound(mono)! Early Goldsmith at his best and imo a far superior ride vs The List of Adrian Messinger.

Thanks for the advice. I'll see if I can find it somewhere.

Yes, mono is not a big problem for me either, and I agree totally as regards LONELY ARE THE BRAVE. Another top notch mono release imo is THE RED PONY (Goldsmith).

A childhood dream comes true at last!

And it means even more now than it would have back when I was young. Varese is right -- JG was a master of the craft even then. Listen to the cinematic storytelling as Jerry weaves together a myriad of themes and motifs to tie threads together -- brilliant!

Two home runs for Preston. First: Luck of the Irish, then: Adrian Messenger!

Preston, we have to make this a trifecta! So, what is the third score you really want? smile

Peter

Well, time to throw out that bootleg and get this!! What a way to honor what would have been Goldsmith's 85th birthday. Classy, Varese!!!
