Channel 5 have dropped the show so they won't be airing season 4. I think the only way to see it on TV is on FOX, but I'm sure there will be repeats. Alternatively, you could download the episodes using iTunes/Amazon (whatever their service is called).

Pleasantly surprised to find SPOILER Denise Crosby at Terminus! Curious as to what her character will be like.

Crazy. I didn't even recognize DC.

Wow! I didn't know it was her either (until just now, when I peeled back the black).
It was still a frustrating episode for me, with lots of tut tut/stupid stuff going on.
It's been a bad few weeks getting to Terminus, I just hope it will have been all worth it in the future.

I haven't seen any reference to this or discussion so in case anyone missed it, I figured I'd just throw it out there. It's a re-recording but better than nothing for those that want the score.

Interesting. Might have to pick this up, if only to show support for a proper release. The CD appears to have more music than the digital version as well.

And somehow "nothing" still seems better than a re-recording. I don't care how long it'll take but I'd rather wait for the real deal.

There's no way in hell that AMC approved that release, if they won't even approve Bear doing his own.

Aside from that, the arrangements are horrible with awful sounding synth samples.

So what matters more to you

THE MUSIC

Or

THE SOUNDTRACK RECORDING?

Two very different animals.

Now as for this release, clearly AMC and Bear had NOTHING TO DO WITH IT and it SEEMS (and I could be wrong) that it was done in Europe where publishing rules are different then they are here.

If AMC let's this go by and still won't allow the original soundtrack recording from coming out....

oh well.

I just listened to the samples on iTunes - and I´m absolutely disappointed. The main theme does not sound at all like the original. And this sets the tone for the rest.

Re-recordings can be fantastic like the BSX´ "Blade Runner".

But this one is just not worth it.

Hey Ford, any chance you could tackle producing a high quality rerecording of the Walking Dead score? Maybe even have Bear McCreary involved? You did such a great job with the Blade Runner rerecording, and you also did the BSG for Solo Piano CD with Bear. Seems like a no-brainer. smile

Listened to the samples as well and the violins sound dreadful and most of it not representative of the show... Still nice to see this getting such a wide distribution and hope it will show that there is demand for such a release.

So I've just finished listening to the first disc.

Some of the tracks are awful. Some of the tracks are reasonable, if cheap, facsimiles (Suspense and action cues seem to come off the best).

By the end of it (there's two and a half hours of music here), I could probably make a tolerable playlist of highlights. It's obviously no substitute for the original recordings, but if you're desperate to hear the score away from the show, it might be worth picking up (very) cheap or used.

I reserve the right to revise this opinion by the end of the album or when I get around to listening to it through headphones..

Timothy, can you tell where the release originates from? I'm not sure if it's a german or french release.
