Fox? Paramount?

Elmer Bernstein? Hefti?

Is it Neal Hefti?

If so, is "Barefoot in the Park" one of the titles?

That wouldn't be a world premiere frown

I am very pleased by Kritzerland's strong support for scores from the 40's,50's and 60's, but I am not quite sure of the information that Bruce gives us for the guessing game; especially when the information changes two weeks later. Believe me,it is not my aim to ruffle anyone's feathers.

What information has changed? I just began the guessing game for our next release. I've talked about things that are upcoming, but not with any real specificity about when.

This new release will hopefully be announced in the next two weeks. The composer has not been named yet, and it is Paramount - the composer is not new to Kritzerland. We don't play these little guessing things anywhere but here - in fact, we're the only label that I know of that plays them here exclusively - everyone else has taken to Facebook or their own boards - I do this ONLY here at FSM.

I'm always hoping for "A Boy Ten Feet Tall" aka "Sammy Going South". But that is not meant to be in the known universe.

Is this next release the one you discussed on your blog that had so many snippets to fit together?

Lets see: Paramount, 1960s, 2 scores on 1 cd, one composer on Kritzerland before:

Tiomkin, Duning, Waxman, Addison, Mockridge, Grusin?

Drama?

No, that's something else.

Maybe Duning?

Either film has an Irish theme?

Great news! Did Mockridge write the whole score for Liberty Valance or do I remember correctly that Alfred Newman helped out a bit?

From Wikipedia:

The film's dramatically hard-driving music score was composed by Cyril J. Mockridge. In certain scenes involving the character of Hallie, Ford used part of Alfred Newman's "Ann Rutledge Theme" from his earlier film Young Mr. Lincoln. Ford told Peter Bogdanovich in the latter's book John Ford that the theme evoked the same meaning, lost love, in both films.

Wow. I've wanted a release of "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" since I was a kid. It has always been one of my favorite films. And what a treat to finally have "Donovan's Reef" too.

Your filmmusic catalog is becoming so varied that now you have to step up your dance moves, too, Mr. Kritzerland!

Perhaps a square dance for VALANCE and of course, if you're graceful enough, a hula for DONOVAN'S REEF. smile

Some of us are also getting very anxious to actually SEE you dance a jig (or whatever) or else we might come to think you've been lying to us about your prowess on the dance floor.

How about a nice YouTube video? smile

You could do various dance moves and recite some of your catalog while you dance. It might actually be very good for business if you can do it with aplomb! After all, Danny Kaye always said, "The best things happen while you're dancing!"

(By the way.....thrilled about VALANCE and DONOVAN'S......Kritzerland releases have become a must have!)

Holy Moly how did I miss this?

Cyril Mockridge on TWO John Ford films. One shot where I went for my honeymoon, Kauai.

You have now officially picked up the ball where FSM and Varese left off.

What you say, all those other Golden Age releases you have released didn't count?

Yeah, you had to reach a certain number to leave the others in the dust. For me you have reached it. Cough, cough! I'm allergic to dust. Must be from you dancing so many jigs.

Total congrats to Kritzerland!
