As I expected there was an initial burst of enthusiasm and of pledges....now pledges have slowed down..

Pretty normal for a crowdfund, really. There's usually a big burst at the end from people who have reminders set, as well.

Hopefully everyone who plans on buying 1 is willing to step up and pay the slightly higher price to get it funded.

Could Martin Scorsese also be worth a shot in this regard? He did after all give significant praise to the score of EL CID once upon a time.

Yes, he's a Rozsa fan and wrote sleeve notes for two different releases, Koch and Tadlow, and he spoke about 'King of Kings' in a UK Documentary 'Jesus Christ Moviestar' where he discussed not only his own Kazantzakis film, but others. He bemoaned the fact that KoKs was the only film many American film students then knew (1980s) and without denigrating it too much said it had, 'many good moments'.

James,
do you already have an approximate date when the recording sessions will take place in Prague?
I‘ve never attended a recording session before and it’s VERY intriguing to be part of this one...
And since I‘ve never been to Prague before this would be a good opportunity for a visit...

I will not know approx recording dates until such a time when / if the Kickstarter campaign is a success or not? But later Autumn 2018 sees likely ...

I just gladly became the project's 100th backer (nice number, entirely by chance)...let's make this happen!

I'm in! Soooo excited and happy to support James in this endeavor!

As I expected there was an initial burst of enthusiasm and of pledges....now pledges have slowed down...let's hope they pick-up as still 47 days to go! So if you love great classic film music please support this endeavour as the whole project will cost in the region of £80,000...which is what BEN-HUR cost...so I still have to fund the extra £40,000 myself smile smile smile smile smile

Are the rate of donations on par with those given for Moonraker after 3 days?

100 Backers in just 4 days !!!

Many thanks to all who have pledged money for this project ...just need about another 400 Classic Film Music fans to contribute and the recording can become a reality! As Tadlow has already sold over 2000 copies of the new recording of BEN-HUR...which received universal acclaim....surely there must be another 400 devotees of the music of Miklos Rozsa to get this project over the finishing line ? As so far well over 3000 views of this topic smile smile smile smile

The goal was smaller though, as was the minimum pledge to receive a CD...

A cheaper digital download option might get some folks who are on the fence, but perhaps not.

James, you could:

- offer more pledge options: a pledge just for KING OF KINGS and BEN HUR; another with other composers, epic film music etc.
- fix the pledges description. "Receive copy of CD 1 month in advance..." is really confusing. It's a 2CD set isn't it? Besides that "one month in advance" sounds much better than "1 month".
- Tadlow Music should have a banner with a link to KoK kickstarter page.
- show some pictures of your previous projects and maybe a preliminary version of KoK CD set.
- show a picture with the complete collection of Tadlow's Miklós Rózsa CDs.

Not the best description in the world, maybe, but... come on, what sense would it have to receive only one cd of a two cd-set?
Agree with the idea of a banner, instead.

KOK is a wonderful score, a nice idea. The target is really getting there so it looks doable only after 5 days, well-done who-ever supported KOK, I'll support next month, I'm a bit short at the Mo.

I wonder why the "King of Kings--Entracte" on Kickstarter is actually "Sodom & Gomorrah--Answer To a Dream"? I thought the idea was to give people a taste of what they were contributing to.

You did not read what it says!

The video shows Sodom as "what can be achieved"....

The audio track below the video is a separate recording of the Entracte I did right at the end of the Ben Hur session...when there was no camera crew....so obviously there was no video.

So there are 2 elements on the home page....Sodom video as an example....and Entracte audio as another example...of what we could achieve......
