simplistic and cheeky in its attempt to convey a brutal/primitive atmosphere, I'll happily listen with open ears to whatever Jackman offers. Based on JUMANJI he clearly knows how to traffic in a similar sound-world as Silvestri. Simplistic, or...primitive?

Black says they plan to do more if this is successful. How uncharacteristic of a studio to approve this.

There's still time to replace him with Silvestri.

Depends on what version you are listening to. If you are listening to that old bootleg or the Varese Club release, yes, you'll get hiss (as well as distortion in some tracks). If you are listening to the first issue from Intrada, which was from new digital masters, I can't imagine much hiss, and certainly the second issue which fixed some problems (like a missing track and removing some or all crossfades), I can't imagine it's that bad.

I think it's the Intrada release, I mean it says it is (unless somebody made a mistake). I don't actually have it on CD, I rarely ever buy physical music at this point in time, unless it's a holy grail and or a LE style release that I really want badly enough to have it to own in my hands and to experience it as quickly as I can. The Predator (Silvestri) album that I have is downloaded FLAC files and they are HQ because I can tell, and I checked to be sure. I don't think Predator is on Spotify, I haven't checked. That's 320kbps anyway, although for the most part that's fine. I am honestly being picky, because I feel like this could still sound better than it does. Another release which also sounds better also is the Quartet Records Mac and Me release. Anyways, it doesn't change the fact that the score is one Silvestri's best ever. Not at all.

Was there a legal download of the Intrada release?

Was there a legal download of the Intrada release? I'm not actually sure, I get my sources from all over the place. Mostly purchase through Amazon though, and sometimes iTunes (I use to buy big amounts on there, but not nowadays). Usually I stream music on Spotify Premium, or I keep stuff I ripped myself before selling it on to eBay etc. I've sold a lot of the old scores on CDs that I bought from here and elsewhere over the years, because I would just rip them, then never touch that CD again. The only composer I can honestly say I've never sold off my physical collection because I favor them too highly is Goldsmith. I've never been a fan of the CD to be honest (bit before my time). I'm happy with what we have right now in 2018. All I know is if FSM, Intrada, La-La Land etc ever offer their entire catalogues to stream in high quality at a subscription fee in the future? I will be all over it. There's so many scores I wouldn't have even had the chance to listen to away from the film, and keep it affordable if it wasn't for Spotify, and to a lesser extent YouTube.
