I just found it, filed in the crime jazz section. I had been looking in the-space age bachelor pad section and also the unfiled albums. I will spin it later and report back.
Along with other non-soundtrack releases such as show tunes and classical music, how about novel soundtracks? Literally novel soundtracks. There's only an LP release of this one.

That would be a novel idea.
I love branching us out into other genres - and, in fact, each of the classical releases have done very well, thus far, and two of them are actually within 100 copies of selling out - very heartening. We haven't done much jazz, though, so I'm looking at a couple of interesting things. The one thing I really, really wanted was from Sony and involved Dave Brubeck, but Sony has some big thing planned and aren't licensing out any Brubeck right now. The shows have been our life blood for the past year - a real change, although they've always outsold the soundtracks for our site orders. I'm not sure we've ever had more than two hundred site preorders for any soundtrack in our history, which is kind of both shocking and sickening at the same time, but I understand people like to shop at different places - to show you how it's always been different, our first edition of my remix of Sondheim's Follies had 1700 pre-order site sales, and Evening Primrose was right behind it at about 1500. And both have just about reached 3000 sales by now.

I don't share your taste for the musicals, but if they're what keep the pumps primed for the occasional Silver or Golden Age soundtrack release, then thank the Lord for all of them! Any other RCA (then)/Sony (now) material in the pipeline? Any hints about what else you've got going on over there in Kritzerland?

That explains Varese switching to other music genres. Guess you'd want to drop the word "soundtrack" from the experimental music above or it would jinx sales.
Bruce, If you're interested in branching out into jazz while maintaining your core audience, you might consider Gil Melle's adventurous mid-sixties Verve album, Tome VI, for jazz quartet and electronic instruments. Melle plays soprano sax with bass, drums, and piano in duet, more or less, with the electronic instruments--massive things, not those little portable moogs and arps. Perhaps not a great album, but a good one and definitely more than a curiosity. I don't think there has ever been a cd release.

The only thing I disagree with in the above post is the bit that says, "Perhaps not a great album, but a good one..."
The only reason I haven't ordered this yet is because I just ordered a bunch of Kritzerland titles and will be waiting to bundle Advise & Consent with other titles when I order.
Those old days, though, were pretty difficult for me. With so many titles being released from every label, and so many selling out so quickly, I felt pressured to order everything as soon as it came out. I would get slaughtered in shipping fees. The slower pace of sell-outs now means I now can put several titles into a single order.
Advise & Consent trending to number 1 on SAE! Go Bruce (again) Go!
Thanks for letting me know. I forget to go and see how our stuff is doing. Mr. Fielding is very deserving on number one, IMO.
Just checked SAE sales list, A&C is at number 2, still excellent! Great to see CAGED Max Steiner at number 4. And VICTOR YOUNG AT PARAMOUNT Vol. 2 at number 10! Maybe someone will issue a Victor Young Vol. 3?
Yes, they're being shipped to us on Monday - that will take a few days then we'll process right away. That is why I gave this one a wide street date berth - Sony presses these discs not us so we're not in control of the time it takes.

Sony? I thought these limited batches were handcrafted by Trappist Monks!
