I find it the most weak score by Pemberton in this. (And I love All the Money in the World and Molly's Game)

Too long, and a very erratic score in terms of type (is like trying to imitate Göransson) of music, there is a very good theme, but when is get used and certain moments with soundscapes, but there are others that should not get in the release.

Dissapointing

Is it just the streams of this that sound like shit or what? Does anyone have a lossless download to A/B these? It sounds like it was mastered from 128 WMA files or something.

I think that's how its supposed to sound. Kinda raspy.

I like this score. The blend between orchestra and electronica works well.

The most fun I've had listening to music in a while. Nice to hear that Spider-Man keeps inspiring composers to deliver quality.

Yeah, raspy is about right. It's just that when there are bangs and whistles in the actual orchestral elements, it sounds super shrill.

Samples? Where?

Bottom right is a music player...

UGH. Thank goodness for the ability to skip within a track and just keep skipping.

Well, there's a film I can't watch now because of the music. If I were in charge, I'd have rejected that score.

I saw the film in 3D today. I couldn't tell whether the 3D picture was misaligned at times or whether the film was supposed to look blurry in spots. I doubt that the theater was able to properly calibrate its projector because of the way the film is drawn--with constant movement and blur to show the "hole in the space-time continuum." The film was incredibly action-packed, but all of the best jokes were in the trailer. In think I'd need to see it again in 2D to properly judge it.

It's fine in the film, just like second-rate Powell a lot of the time. Other times it sounds like it's trying to approximate what Olivier Deriviere did with that Remember Me game score (which is great and should have led to him getting film work, but NO).

I saw it in 2D, and trust me, it's supposed to look like an old comic book where the color plates were misaligned, giving all of the characters a vaguely fuzzy edge. I actually ran out to grab a pair of 3D glasses, it was driving me so crazy.

This movie's a game changer.
I've only had a reaction like this with a handful of films - The Matrix, Fury Road, Scot Pilgrim and Tron. I'm betting there will be a very clear line between everything before this, and everything after.
Sonically for me it's a feast. I've gone twice and a will go for a third viewing before it leaves theaters.

Saw the movie last friday.Fantastic.In Style and story.
Considering the groundbreaking style, I agree that it´ll might be a game changer, but only for that kind of genre.( Talking about Comic book_action_contemporary or sci-fi genre...animation is not a genre).
Not all animated movies are eligible for that kind of style and storytelling approach I think.
HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON _FROZEN_TANGELED_DESPICABLE ME...etc etc.all those kind of stories will still have the "other" way of production design ..I guess.

Musically..The score was spot on right for that movie and also( even I´m not a big RapFan) the songs fit like a glove!

Then you have a faulty memory, 'cause I praise scores often and I haven't even been in that many Pemberton threads to comment for you to make the assumption on how I feel.

Where I have I seen this attitude before? From you, several times on other posters when they aren't saying nice things you agree with.

....trying to approximate what Olivier Deriviere did with that Remember Me game score (which is great and should have led to him getting film work, but NO).

This is what's best for me about FSM - Deriviere flew under my radar till just now, and I'm really enjoying Remember Me right this very minute. Thanks for the shout out.

(Um, I got nothing on Spider-Verse - ain't heard it nor seen it yet.)

It sounds like Remember Me (but it doesn't really, just reminds me of how that Deriviere guy incorporated weird electronics into a SWEET-sounding orchestral score)!

Glad I made a convert! He's done other great stuff, but that's the one I always pull up. Southall's glowing review is what clued me in - http://www.movie-wave.net/remember-me/

I think this movie will be influential in many ways, not the least of which is (hopefully) opening the floodgates for Theatrical Super Hero Animation. When was the last big screen comic book super hero movie? Mask of the Phantasm is the only one I can come up with. This seems like a no brainer genre, animated super heroes on the big screen that's for grown ups as much as it is appropriate for kids.

Granted the live action superhero films are probably 70% percent CGI, I would be far more interested in super hero movies if they were "traditionally" animated.
