Playboy Germany hasn't been the same since Heinrich von Hefner died.

It is just not at all plausible that the writer made up an entire piece filled with inflammatory statements, winging it, that it would just sail by. Morricone has perfectly good reasons for his unvarnished truths, but sometimes you regret it once you hurt your professional connections, or hurt your friends feelings.

Funny, how all the Tarantino bashers want the quotes to be true!

Believe what you will but it looks like the misquoting apology wasn't good enough for Ennio. The journalist now admits to more than misquoting and is being sued by Playboy.

people apologize for things they never did all the time, and people are sued for anything and everything these days, 90% of which are spurious and unfounded. Nothing here means a thing.

This quote right here says all ;
"Boitin’s statement did not specify exactly which quotes in the published interview were false or misleading"

For you that says it all.

For me this says it all. "“Mr. Anders has now addressed the accusations himself, and admits to making ‘terrible mistakes,’” which included “adding statements made at other times and in other media,” Boitin said, adding: “Based on the information at our disposal, his actions have resulted in irresponsible inaccuracies at best and, at worst, an intentional deceit.”

Mistakes, not A mistake. More importantly admitting you enhanced your interview "adding statements made at other times and in other media" is the antithesis of what journalism is. Ask any journalist.

At worst it is an assemblage of real remarks the composer made, some off the record.

The idea that this writer made up lies as remarks that the composer has never said is not stated here in any way

We are not talking absolutes. Morricone has criticized both Tarantino and the Academy before but nothing like this level of vitriol or with this language. In his outrage to having his only score dumped WHERE DREAMS MAY COME he expressed their professional incompetence, but no crude name calling. If you have another way of talking you don't suddenly reveal it in your 90th year in a German magazine.

But if a journalist wants to tweak your translation to make headlines...

But it is time to concede. I get it. These quotes, that do not match anything Ennio has said before in his life, is Gospel for you unless someone absolutely proves it to you, in a court of law. And then you would probably still have your doubts.

Tarantino inspired his best score in decades.

Nuff said and case closed!

True.
But the he would have had to listen to QT babble on about the joys of Austrailan grindhouse cinema.

So no one can say something they have never said in their lifetime or it is a lie?
