Any scene with Keanu Reeves or Anthony Hopkins IS unintentionally hilarious.
Well, Reeves and Ryder are of course the movie's glaring weak spots. As for Hopkins, I think his performance is meant to wink at the audience a little, and add some eccentric humor.
Otherwise, I think the film is a masterpiece, a delightful three ring circus of cinematic invention and homage. Few mainstream movies since have operated on this level of visual/technical creativity.
Has anyone mentioned Jupiter Ascending. A great effort by Giacchino but a mess of a movie.
Also, I love Conan the Barbarian. I can watch it over and over. But, dare I say it, the movie owes most of its success to the masterful score by Poledouris.

JUPITER ASCENDING was abysmal indeed!
A more charitable view of CONAN is to recognize that, unlike your given lousy film that Goldsmith managed to elevate single-handedly, it is a very good epic adventure purposely structured to put the music at the forefront. If Milius hadn't had the notion to feature the music in this way, it would have been a different, and perhaps lesser film.
Personally, I think it's fabulous. A pagan version of BEN-HUR! :-)
The 1960's Casino Royale flick. Burt Bacharach's music actually helps give me the impression that I'm having a good time watching it, it's that good. Without it, it would be nigh-on unwatchable.
I agree with the OP about The 'Burbs: really vulgar and stupid movie. I remember thinking the ending seeming slapped on the wrong movie.
My choice of bad but great:
BABY: Epic score, unwatchable movie. HOOK: One of JW's greatest score for one of SS's worst clunkers. Every time I attempt to watch this, I cringe and cringe and cringe.
I don't believe CASINO ROYALE is as bad as most people think it is. Don't get me wrong: it's a missed opportunity for a great Bond spoof, and if you consider the considerable talent involved.... sheesh. But it's still pretty enjoyable as a 60's anything goes crazy comedy.... in places. The music is, of course, dope.
So many...but to be fair...if you don't take low budget productions into consideration and stick to big budget movies. I´d go for:
HOOK.
For me ,the worst movie ever. Spielberg and his screenwriters just "raped" the beautiful story of PETER PAN by letting him grow up to be an annoying hairy Robin Williams and by trying to curry favor to pop culture and americanized lost boys with stupid outfits and behavior. Everything was wrong in this movie except: The beautiful, magical score of
JOHN WILLIAMS.
But again to be fair...there is no movie version of PETER PAN ( also great score by Oliver Wallace!!!) except for Disneys animated movie from 1953, so far, that is worth a watch.
A thread like this just goes to show how difficult it is to agree on what is an awful film. One person's awful film is another person's masterpiece and vice versa.

Yes but some things are recognized facts: The Swarm, Batman & Robin, King Kong Lives are universally considered bombs!
Other movies are not The Burbs, Poltergeist II, Jaws the Revenge.

THE SWARM and KING KONG LIVES, maybe. But BATMAN FOREVER and BATMAN & ROBIN are rather misunderstood films. Schumacher applied the 'camp' of the 60s series to big, A-list production values. There's something to be lauded there, even if it alienated fans of the comic book hero in the post-Tim Burton BATMAN era.
