Marcato has a point.

Don’t feed the trolls. They live under bridges for a reason.

For the upcoming Bonds...

Just release 'em. I'll be happy.

Well, MV did say back in November of 2017 when they released their first expanded Bond score:

Eon is looking closely at this release and it's pending success. If this does well, 2018 is gonna be looking up!

MV

And then we got this update on March 18, 2018:

Just about half way sold out. EON was very happy with the experience and product.

MV

To me that and the second Bond score the label has done, indicates EON is now open to playing ball and that we'll get more deluxe Bonds.

In my personal opinion, it's not a matter of if they will do more, but when.

The issue is the rights. Back when the last reissue/expansion project came about, EMI (the owners of the UA Records Catalog) was a still a functioning entity. They are not anymore and ownership of their titles has been scattered to the four winds. And then you got all the other problems (session tapes for at least four, possibly six, scores are lost; separate and/or expensive licensing contracts for title songs; etc.)

Basically this round of reissues may hit a brickwall real quick past Tomorrow Never Dies.

You’ve got your demands (Marcato, it's cold in here)
They’re out of our hands (Marcato, you’re trolled in here)
This thread has been, well (I’m so glad that you dropped in)
Somewhat insane (I’ll shake your hand, and pick your brain)
And Schiffy will start to worry (cross fades can be quite blurry)
You’ve managed to annoy Lehah (for that I’ll meet you at the bar)
Marcato, to me you’re a star, but matey it’s cold in here.

We all want more Bond (‘cos baby there’s gold inside)
We’d fish in that pond (I’m pretty sure Lukas tried)
I’m sure we’d all buy, it would be grand.
We’re all in our basements and starvin’
For John or Bill, heck even Marvin
It’s the very least we’re desarvin’ smile
And matey there’s gold inside

I really must go (although it’s so cold outside)
But one thing I must know (so it’s Denmark that you reside)
I bet it’s cold there, this time of year.
So tell me please, Doctor Marcato, does it rhyme with potato or potato? (Oh really, so it’s just like “tomato”)
Well kiddo, you’re bold in here.

I still have fingers crossed that we will eventually get the John Barry scores re-done as double disc editions.

(I really like the original album programmes and would like them in the package; and when it comes to the film scores it would be nice to get those done chronologically and with more, shorter tracks.)

However I still think it's too early to assume it's all coming. It is very good that the 'trial balloon' that was DIE ANOTHER DAY succeeded, but also remember these releases had David Arnold actively supporting them too.

I do see more Bond coming, but my intuition says it's going to be mostly from the post-Barry era for the time being, like maybe completing the run of David Arnold scores and I can imagine the Kamen score coming before anything in the John Barry era too.

Of course, only time will actually tell.

I do know and trust that La-La-Land would be all over the John Barry scores if they got the opportunity.

Cheers

Nothing rhymes with Marshall. And you’ve had a whole limerick to yourself, as I recall.

Yeah and the song is about and should only be about me wink

I'll say it's good enough to be the next Bond song

Now we just need a good melody

I go for JAC. Redford for the next Bond-composer so he should score the next bond film (and my song) wink

But I wasn't a liar old man (look at the profile picture you can)
Scoundrel I might be (time will tell because I won't flee)

Fartball comes close. Surely you could work that into a song in a James Bond thread.

Tom Jones did Fartball already.

Tom Jones did Fartball already.

Yes, according to legend he held the note so long he passed out at the end.
