Okay - since we already got "Rocky IV" I would at least politely ask for a remastered and expanded "Rocky"? I mean, they keep on re-releasing the film on Blu-Ray. Why not give the score a better treatment?
And if the rights to that are a mess... what about "Rocky Balboa"? That one didn´t even get a score release.
The Rocky series music seems to have fallen into the crevasse between "small enough to let a boutique soundtrack label release it" and "big enough for a major record label to take an interest." It's a deep hole to be in.
Exactly. Your average Joe says "It's all the same music", but we movie music fans see each arrangement and/or variation of a theme as a different piece of music. Gonna Fly Now is different in every movie, especially Rocky Balboa, and I'd love to own all of them.
I don't think a Rocky V score would sell all that well on its own (I would buy it in heartbeat), but it would sell much better in a box set.
