"Goldsmith, Elmer Berstein, John Barry and John Williams have stated at various times that James Horner is the most important and influential film composer ever."

PUH-LEEZ!!!

Quote them...all four of them.
Copy those quotes here, for all of us to read.

Until you do, I cannot believe that statement.

Anzaldiman, I'm SURE I heard Jerry say "Copeland"; not "Copland". But then again, I was told he had had quite a few Fosters by the time I got there.....

Goldie,
Ahh, It kind of sounds more to me by your tone and use of language that YOU, and not the other "Goldie" enjoyed one too many beers..Piels, maybe, but not Fosters...

Meister Brau, Lowenbrau, Schaeffer, Pabst Blue Ribbon. These are the voyages of the Starship Alcohol. It's ongoing mission. To exploit strange young men. To see out all female babes.

And buy her breakfast the next morning.

This message has been edited to the tune of SHAFT, by Isaac Hayes.

Truly a master cool man.

Back to Horner. Listening to some of his music right now, I doubt food would be his inspiration factor.

But I am curious to know if he has ever had dinner with Goldsmith at the Outback.

You have to wonder sometimes. Maybe these composer rivalries are like the bad scripts to a wrestling match. Creates mystique, interest, and a sense of adversarial notions. But in the scheme of things, I wonder if these guys just bump into each other at the most offbeat moments and just shoot the breeze.

Imagine Horner asking Goldsmith, "Jerry, do you think I can get a good price on a duduk player. That instrument sounded real cool in the Russia House." With Jerry relying, "Gee, Jamie, I no longer have a name of a good duduk player. But, I can recommend a good stainlees steel mixing bowl company. Try Economy Restaraunt Supply. They are located in Clifton New Jersey. Tell 'em, Jerry sent you."

Truly a work of Gau Jus proportions.

Yes! Jerry Goldsmith does eat at Outback. And when Jerry's finished his steak and gone home, James Horner goes "outback" in the restaurant dumpster to feast on Jerry's leftovers.

With the money Horner makes, he probably owns the restaurant.

Yes, it is about film music. Which makes me further wonder: Has Jerry composed a special theme for the OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE when dining there? After all, the quality of music they typically have playing in the background isn't spectacular.

I wonder if it would go something like this;

1. Theme from OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE
2. Bloomin' Onion
3. On The Barbie
4. 24-Ounces
5. Australian for Beer
6. The Check
7. The Vegans
8. Spicey Chicken
9. The Payoff
10. After-Dinner Mints
11. Gift Certificate?
12. Finale (Theme from OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE)

Total Time: 31:25

I think that's what you alluded to. And make no bones, I need to lose a good 50-70 pounds to get to my target weight.

So, he's not alone in this universe. We purveyors of calories love to eat food. What can I tell you. It's hard to lose weight. In gfact, a year ago I took off 52 pounds only to put back on 24 pounds after I met my future wife.

Ok, I digress. We were talking about film music.

I once heard the theme from Goldsmith's THE GHOST AND THE DARKNESS in an Outback.

Haunting it was.

Very Naw See Us
