BRING ON JADE!!! I wonder if it will have unused material? I'm shocked that this would ever be released beyond the Main Title -- shocked and awwwed, in the best way.
I don't understand either, this score is last on my list of unreleased Horner scores....
Well, one could argue that it is a fascinating score because it has so many... facettes... sides... there are lots of absolutely ridiculous synth-cues with Shakuhatchi - or however you write that - which absolutely drive you insane and on the other hand you have the Strawinsky-plagiarism, copied by Horner 1:1. So it could be an interesting listen for some persons And no, the score is not erotic at all, sorry guys.
Hey Shaun, are you going to see the Eels this year? I've got tickets for London (Sept 1) and Manchester (Sept 4). Another new album soon. It's raining Eels
Man, his last album was so completely depressing (and that's saying something for E) that I'm almost burned out on them for now. Will I still get Tomorrow Morning (or whatever the album is called)? Of course. I just hope it's as upbeat as the single.

Did I mention that I'll pass on this?
I'm pretty sure the Stravinsky gets a credit in the film. Hopefully Dan (et al) knew that this piece wasn't by Horner! We're all going to be sorry when we hear the rest of the score!
But Jade will be an 'interesting' experience. I don't remember it being particularly enticing while watching the film... Are we allowed to get more details of what will be on it, particularly whether it's a straight score as used in the film, or are there unused and/or alternates on it too?

Horner HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE STRAVINSKY MUSIC IN THE FILM AT ALL.
William Friedkin - the director - chose that along with the Lorena McKennitt song.
Remember "The New World", where Terrance Malick used two pieces of classical music as score but Horner had nothing to do with them?
Or "Alien", where Goldsmith's score was replaced by the classical pieces, but Goldsmith had nothing to do with them?
Well, "Jade" fits into the same basic category of the composer having nothing to do with the source-as-score music in the film.

The score is heard in the film is not what you'd expect for a limited edition. Friedkin is a music meddler like Scott or Mann...it wouldn't be a surprise that there's 40 - 50 minutes of rejected score that'll be premiered on CD.
MV and the LaLa gang wouldn't risk a CD unless there's more to it than meets the eye
Those are some fantastic titles on the way - Batman Returns is my favourite Elfman and to hear it given new life will be remarkable.
One question though: are these all tentatively being released before the big November 30 batch? Does that mean some big titles have yet to be announced? I only ask because I've enjoyed the suspense of finding out LLL's releases this year and hope there's still some surprises in store.
One of the only lines of dialogue I remember from The 40 Year Old Virgin: "Be like David Caruso in Jade."
Anyway, sign me up for Alien Resurrection and Batman Returns (and possibly Clue as well)!
I wonder if Batman Forever is somewhere on the drawing board. I know there's some stuff missing from the album but I couldn't tell you what. It's not a top priority but for the sake of Bat-consistency, it'd be cool to see this one revisited.
And it's nice to know LLL is on WaterTower's radar... bodes well for future WB releases (in my uninformed opinion).

I believe MV was more interested in releasing the Batman & Robin score since there was only a song sdtk from the film. I hope LLL & Water Tower work together for any future Batman scores
It helps this old comic fan's heart that MV is such a big fan of the Dark Knight.
(Seems like he perfers DC to Marvel though? No interest in releasing any of the library music they wrote for any of the Marvel cartoons from over the years?)
