Who GIVES a LAMEBRAIN SHIT about another GODDAM "Mad Max" movie?

And, that is ( or was ) THUNDER Road, before Mel Gibson realized he was just too DAMN OLD to do THIS *again*.....

Before The Passion Of The Christ put enough money in his bank account for him to get busted for DUI on the Pacific Coast Highway, doing what he normally loved to do (including that "sugar-tits" remark)
and then ending his career with a crap-load of "denials" on national TV and then going on to have a nice string of "Straight To Nowhere" movies.

MUSIC? Holy SHIT! You could tell me it was the "Kazoo Brothers" lined up for this, and I could STILL not give a shit!

Exactly. The "post-apocalypse" boat sailed years ago.

I give a shit about another MAD MAX movie, it's sounds like it is going to be a great action picture. There was recently a rough cut screening of FURY ROAD and it went incredibly well. So well the studio gave more money to George Miller to shoot some scenes he always wanted to do but didn't have the money. That's a very good sign. I can't wait for this picture. There's nothing wrong with a great action film.smile

I will definitely go to see it at the theater and hope for the best. Should be a fun action ride.

I vote the new movie rips off some genuine Turkish movie music to pay back for them stealing music from "The Road Warrior" for their Rambo ripoff.

May 15, 2015 is Mad Max Fury Road's release date. That's pretty far since they've been re shooting recently. And two weeks after The Avengers sequel opens no less.

So Junkie XL is scoring FURY ROAD. It opens in about a year. I'm really looking forward to it. A test screening went pretty well earlier this month which is promising. George Miller is my second favorite director so I'm really rooting for him. Spielberg is my favorite director btw.

What a waste of film and music. Yes, I have not heard it yet, but nothing Junkie XL has done has impressed me. We miss Brian May.

Wish Miller would have considered fellow Aussie Christopher Gordon for the assignment. Infinitely better composer than a guy who calls himself Junkie XL....

To it's credit, it looks and feels just like the other ones.
Sadly, without Brian May and Maurice Jarre, it sure won't sound like the other ones, but what do we expect these days?
I wonder if the Fast/Furious franchise is worried wink

Maurice Jarre? He practically ruined THUNDERDOME single-handedly. Brian May was the one and only. Junkie XL is a horrible choice. Should have begged John Murphy or Clint Mansell to do it. Max Richter would have been a good choice as well.

Not much. Says everything about where we've gone, moving from the likes of May and Jarre to "Junkie XL".

As for Miller, hopefully his first live-action/adult picture since 1992 (at least one that didn't involve talking pigs or penguins) turns out alright. What an odd career he's had.

Well, he was in pre-production on Justice League (plug subsequently pulled) not that long ago.

I think we forget how close Fury Road, starring Mel Gibson, actually came to being made. It was in active pre-production nearly a decade ago, only to be put on ice. I worked with a make-up artist who was in prep on that earlier incarnation, and he told me the crew felt sad when the film was shelved not so much for losing their jobs, but because the script was so genuinely good.

As for Junkie XL, I trust Miller. He has always made choices which distinguish and enhance his films musically. Fury Road is still a year off and that's an eternity for a film composer working for a director so involved with the sensory elements of his films.

You can't go wrong with Tom Hardy as Max. That is just awesome. Considering the style of music you have in these films I am not particularly surprised that they picked Junkie XL. Not going to be the best score of the year but shouldn't be too bad.

Maurice Jarre? He practically ruined THUNDERDOME single-handedly. Brian May was the one and only.

In fairness, the long tedious stretch with the kids in the desert can't have helped; ditto the climax not being a patch on the previous movie's. (Also, I've never liked Tina Turner.)
