YOR likes Brian Tyler, he is good composer.

But YOR is sure that he will be forced to write the score in the "Zimmer-Wall-of-Sounds" style.

Just like Doyle was in the first "Thor".

Sad.

Yor, he already writes that way, he just uses a few more real instruments to do it.

It's hardly comparable to the Doyle situation, Tyler's sound isn't all that much removed from the MV/RC sound in the first place.

No, Tyler is not like Midiventures drones.

He is good composer, but YOR understands he forced himself to write on that "style" to adapt to this new times...

Sad.

Strongly disagree. Kind of an ill-advised blanket generalization...

I like Tyler fine for what it's worth, I just find his action music definitely falls into that category. It's not like I hate that sound and have an allergic reaction to it like other posters, I like it fine on occasion and Tyler does it perfectly well.

Sure it's a more intelligent and creative approach to that sound but Doyle did that with the first film and got (wrongly) blasted for it. I imagine Tyler will take a similar approach, a very thematic score with RC/MV action cues, and get praised for it. It's a funny world we live in.

I too wonder if the people bashing Doyle's Thor score are hearing the same CD that I play!
It's chock full of Doyle-isms. Sure, he's processed the sound somewhat to make it sound modern, but his main theme is great, there's a beautiful love theme and some stonking action cues.
Just listen to the opening of The Compound. If that doesn't sound 100% Doyle to you, you don't know Doyle!

YOR loves Doyle since a long time ago and has all his scores.

"Thor" does indeed contain some Doyle's trademarks, yes, but the overall feeling of the score is strongly based on the "wall-of-sounds" of Zimmer and his midiventurers.

Very sad.

"Now that it's all done, I can officially announce that I will be the featured vocalist on the upcoming score by the hugely talented composer Brian Tyler Fan Page for the major motion picture "Thor- The Dark World" to be released in November. I saw the first one and loved it. This one is even better. I've worked with Brian over the years on several scores most notable the popular "Children of Dune", so it was great to work with him again after so many years, even though this time I recorded my vocals in Montreal and sent them to LA. It is rare that I'm super excited to see a film I've worked on. This is one of them."

Children of Dune wailing woman ethnic singing again?

In 2013? It's already cliched in 2003!

I recall singing as well in that score. A singing woman, that's been done before too.

I read that they're not going to release a soundtrack for Thor 2: The Dark World.

The movie is out here in three and a half weeks and nothing about a score release. I'm guessing Intrada at this stage?
