Jerry wrote some great action cues.
If I was to select ONE, that would be Clever Girl from Total Recall.

Goldsmiths action music in The Secret of NIMH is among his best.

(2) The Tractor

"The Tractor"!

Only Goldsmith can write such scary music for something so harmless like a tractor.

Brilliant.

My favorite will always be "No Escape" from PLANET OF THE APES. The Jacob Gimpel piano playing and that wild climax. I've known it since I first got the LP back when I was nine years old. Will always be my favorite Goldsmith action cue.

That's the ONE and for pretty much the same reasons- although I was about 16 when I saw the movie.

So... no love for "Hot Water"?

I don't know if it's my # 1 favourite but it's up there as a brilliant action cue, one of the very best.

Probably this one, because it was unavailable for several years until the score was finally expanded.

Back in the day I recorded this cue off my VCR and kept it on an audio cassette with other "ripped" tracks. Even now I can't listen to it without hearing machine guns and Stallone screaming "Move it, move it!"

Probably not "action" music as you mean it, YOR. More of a "suspense/action" cue: "The Killers Arrive" from THE BOYS FROM BRAZIL. Boy, did Goldsmith know how to use brass!
