Also, Quartet have been known to put out some great unreleased scores, I welcome you to their catalogue to discover these gems:

http://www.quartetrecords.com/

Francis, I do visit their website regularly and have enjoyed many of their releases. On their main release webpage, I own 8 of the 12 pictured. I am just disappointed that they had to re-release something instead of releasing a new score.

There are a few FACTS that I need to be pointed out.

a.) INTRADA Issued this titled for the for the first time in late July 2008, this new title will be coming out 5 YEARS AFTER IT HAD SOLD OUT ALREADY!!!!

b.) INTRADA only did a 1500 Unit release that sold out quite quickly (within a a week or so as I recall)

c.) copies of this release have been selling for around a $119.00 or higher on Amazon as of today.

d.) This new release 2-CD release is going out at about for a vastly less about and given the label's track record it will more then likely sound as good if not better then the INTRADA release.

Given the current market, I think they will stand a very good chance of selling their thousand unit run very shortly.

So on a business level, reissuing this title makes a lot of sense because there is a market for it that goes well beyond soundtrack geeks.

So tp recap, this label is reissuing a soundtrack that sold out quickly 5 years ago and has been selling for big bucks in the secondary markets.

If you have the INTRADA release and don't feel like picking this up, that's fine...

Bitching about them reissuing it given these facts MAKES NO SENSE WHATEVER.

Get a life.

Thanks Ford for the link and I agree. This reissue is much welcomed. I haven't heard it, but I imagine a strong patriotic type action score? I'm gonna surprise myself with this one.

Edit: NVM, listening to the samples this score sounds different than I expected, still picking it up.

So.... is there anything on the OST that is different from the Complete, or is it just fewer tracks but those tracks are identical to the Complete?

I believe Intrada combines some cues and/or has longer tracks in certain places, but pretty sure there's nothing missing that was on the album. There's unfortunately no info like they do these days about the specifics.

people keep buying because they really are not happy with the previous releases

What's this? A two-penny sociological analysis?

I'm more than happy with my Intrada copy but will also buy this since I appreciate Quartet quality as well (and like Delta Force movies in general).

It's very 80's, I love that disco heroic theme.

If you want to hear samples, INTRADA still has their page up for it.

Okay really considering this score, anyone's reviews on it? Never heard it before. Is it full of action?

I personly find this is one of the most terrible Silvestri-scores: Mostly synth music (in typical 80`s manier).
After trying to hear the complete score three times i gave it up.
No releation to Silvestri`s work from this time like BACK TO THE FUTURE, PREDATOR, ect.
Even FANDANGO is much better.

But of course, its allways a matter of taste and many guy`s like this score very much!
Just try a look at Youtube, iam shure you will find some samples from the ost.

I had the original release of this, paired with King Solomon's Mines.
In order to have the Goldsmith, I had to suffer seeing Delta Force sharing the cover.
The Delta Force music was very horrible and I was delighted to get it off my shelf and sling it in the bin when King Solomon's Mines subsequently received a solo release.

Did you get off as you slung it in the bin? Or was your delight simply the usual joy we know you from on this board?

The problem with this specific release is that it sounds AWFUL!!!

I have no idea what they used as a master, but as I recall it was one o the worst sounding CDS I've ever heard in my life.

I, like many orhers, missed the previous Intrada version so I'm thrilled this is being rereleased. I'm new to soundtrack collecting so most rereleases are new for me.

Glancing at the cover art (which I know is the poster art), gotta love the no-look missile launch from Lee Marvin. That's what a bad-ass he is -- he's firing a missile without even aiming!

On a Little sidenote : Before Lee Marvin were cast Charles Bronson was tapped to star alongside Chuck.

Cool this is getting a reissue.
Intrada's pressing didn't survive beyond 24HRS

I think a 2CD set us overkill, but it's a Silvestri gem nonetheless.

I would be ecstatic over a CD issue of NO MERCY
Or better yet
An expanded and un-suited version of Frederick Talgon's DELTA FORCE 2: STRANGLEHOLD.
That was a great score!

Me too. I wasn't even into soundtracks when this score came out. Thanks Quartet! You've saved the day for me. I've been waiting for this title in particular to get the re-release treatment it deserves.

All it says is 'next week'. I believe, but could be wrong, that previous Quartet releases have been on Wednesday. However, with this CD, Quartet will probably tell us (perhaps in this very thread) what time and day it goes on sale. This is a highly-anticipated title, and Quartet seems to keep good customer relations.
