I lost interest in the GTA games starting with the fourth ones, but I heard some of TD's score earlier while my brother was playing this new one, and it was pretty good. Not that familiar with TD, but I liked it.

Played the first bank heist today and there was a great 80's styled TD score to the mission, very nice and it added to the drama and urgency of the scene. Liked it a lot!

The new Tang-D score is excellent! It sounds very much like their 80's work. Lots of Thief and 3 o clock high type stuff.

Three O'Clock High! Right on (and you've reminded me that I need to buy this film). smile

I imagine the delay in an album release is that TD might be arranging it for an album. The guys aren't exactly spring chickens and considering how much original music is in this game I can assume they are taking their time getting the right mix and the right tracks. Rockstar would be lunatics to ignore a score release for the works of TD, Woody Jackson, and the hip hop-styled contributions from Oh No and The Alchemist. All of their games from this console generation have had hearty soundtrack album releases so I doubt they will hold off on this one for too long.

P.S. The music makes the missions in this game feel so alive. I don't think I could return to previous incarnations in this series (though I still love my copy of GTA2) because it really makes all the difference to be in a high speed pursuit after knocking off a jewelry score while Edgar Froese and the group lead me to the safehouse with their adreneline-pumping synth, drum, and guitar work.

yeah The Journey played Glass, Steve Roach, TD... I think in the new game he means that Elfman's music is playing as score, not music from a radio station.

haven't played that mission yet but will keep an ear out for the Elfman music. has to be Trevor related. only character crazy enough for such music.

Downloadable score album. Tracks 5, 9, 11 and 15 are TD - possibly more:

Gotcha.

yeah The Journey played Glass, Steve Roach.

And remixing it beyond all recognition! LOL

That link doesn't work, however Amazon in the US has this:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FCIROYK/ref=sr_1_7_rd?ie=UTF8&child=B00FCISGPG&qid=1379996336&sr=1-7

Over 3 and a half hours, the majority are songs, and of the hour or so of score, only 3 seem to be Tangerine Dream. The score tracks are labeled with TD and the other 2 featured composers, so aside from 3 tracks I can't really hear any other TD.

If this is the only score release of the Tangerine Dream music, it is a huge disappointment.

The local rag here is lambasting GTA V for things such as violence and mysogeny, it's stupifying.

Odd....it seems to have disappeared from Amazon as well. Both albums released and then yanked offline .. ?

The Amazon links are active again... but can't say I'm too fond of the remix tracks.

Oh well.

Yep... when Trevor encounters the guy wanting to legalize pot and takes a toke, freaking out... then the Elfman music comes into play. Pretty funny and it works with that loopy scene.

The TD score works pretty well, the missions featuring Michael seem to be the ones with the TD sound I like - just finished the nifty helicopter chase mission which really used the TD score to enhance the action.

Shame the official release only seems to have remixes of the TD score.

While updating the Christmas schedule this morning, I came across this boxset, being released on CD on 9th December 2014.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PBE2GES/ref=s9_simh_gw_p15_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-4&pf_rd_r=1M3FPMKAEEKTHQS5B1BQ&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1688200482&pf_rd_i=507846

I assume it's the three MP3 albums with no extra material.

Yep, it is the existing MP3 albums on physical discs. TD's official album - while missing almost exciting cue from the game razz still plays very well as is :

But Youtube has lots of music ripped from the game that is very nice.
