It did happen more quickly than I thought - 1000 was just the right number. 1200 and we wouldn't have sold 700 by this point.

Boy am I glad I had you set one aside for me. I'll be paypaling the money when I get to my lap top later this evening.

Interesting covers, fantastic samples...
And now I run to Intrada's store and making new order! big grin
Now I wait for two out-of-stock CDs from them (another is Dressed to Kill)

Hope that sales are going well?

It's moving VERY quickly.

Mr Kimmel, may I ask for a reservation?

No problem.

Thank you Mr Kimmel, and congratulations!

Contact you in mid-Nov. for this title and Alien Nation.

Those samples really aren't cutting it for me...forgot how much I've loved these 2 scores for so long, particularly RwtM. The quicker you can get 'em shipped out, the better. smile

On a related note, a RwtM Blu-ray sure would be nice. The gorgeous Medocino locations, John Bailey cinematography, and meticulous period details would certainly benefit nicely from the HD upgrade. What an underrated drama this is. Another quiet film that got lost in the high concept / teen sex '80s shuffle. Even, if you're a Sean Penn hater, of which there are many, I really defy you to not be won over by this film and his performance in it.

In the supporting roles, overlooked character guy John Karlen, as Penn's father, always gets me. Their scenes together are really quite lovely. Elizabeth McGovern is perfect as the object of Penn's desire and Cage reminds how good he can be, in this case in support. Makes one sad, after watching this, to know that Penn and Cage had a public spat several years ago, as they're really great together here.

Not really understanding your post - the samples aren't cutting it for you but the quicker we can ship the better because you forgot how much you loved these two scores? The first part doesn't mesh with the second part because if the samples aren't grabbing you I cannot see how you would love either of these scores, since the samples are a pretty great cross section of the music for both films.

Looking at it less cynically, I think what he meant was that the samples weren't enough for him...that he couldn't wait to hear all the music on the CD. Not that the samples didn't appeal to him.

Nothing to do with cynically and just the way it read to me which is why I said I wasn't getting it. You're probably right

Meaning the samples aren't enough. I'm quite familiar with both scores and love them. Your samples reinforced those thoughts and made me want this disc even more. Ship date can't get there fast enough for me. I ordered the thing as soon as I saw it up on the Kritzerland site. In other words, I'm saying, "Nice work, Bruce!"

Is the customer always right? I thought it might be interesting to see what we all have to deal with occasionally. Yesterday afternoon I received the following e-mail:

Sirs,

I placed an order a couple of days ago, and the only efficient thing you did for me is get the money from PayPal.
I don't have any receipt not tracking # of my order.

Are you racist???

Very awful way to do business

No joke here. Now, the first error: His order was placed shortly prior to sending the e-mail, not days ago. At the end of every paypal transaction you get a "you sent a payment" screen and you can then see your paypal receipt which has a transaction number. But I think the tracking information he's wishing he had is for the shipment of his CD. Really? We get the order and moments later it's magically going to be on its way - and on Saturday, too? What kind of universe do these sorts of people live in? And the "racist" comment? I wrote this "person" and told him unless I had an apology by the time I return this afternoon order cancelled and refund made - this kind of customer nobody needs.

That's a new one. What could this person possibly be thinking?

Is the customer always right?

Obviously not! smile
Don't worry, Bruce. I had similar situation lately on eBay. The customer from Italy paid 5 days after purchasing item (on Friday afternoon), and the next day I received the email: "Where the hell is my CD???". wink
It looks like people like this one are more than I thought...

Is the customer always right?

I've learned over the years that the customer is rarely right.

The whole thing is so ridiculous that it transcends being funny. In fact, it's disturbing and makes me glad that I personally don't know many soundtrack collectors.
