I'm listening now. Whatever one ultimately thinks of the sound quality or the extras, this score is truly one of the greatest ever written. I'm through disc one and into the mono presentation of the full score. Alex North was one of the true originals - his like will probably not be seen again.
The packaging is very nice - sturdy and well put together. The book quality is also sturdy and the image quality therein is great - lots of photos and album and sheet music covers (especially like the inclusion of the latter) - haven't really had time to read any of it yet.
I will order my set next pay day. The set does look a lot nicer than I imagined. I just hope my corners are dinged up etc. For the price it should arrive in MINT condition. No box cuts etc.

It comes in a very sturdy box - mine arrived just fine.
Mine were here too. And if there are problems with the track titles when you put them into iTunes, blame me. I am blurry eyed from submitting the 4 discs info.

Do you think this one i arround in the coming month (september) ??????
Mine didn't come! I saw the mailman leave, waited until it no longer looked like I was stalking him, and ran out to get "Spartacus"! Instead, there was just a bill from my wife's dermatologist and an offer for a low-interest credit card.

Rats. Now I have to sit here and do my work.
That's what you get for having such a creepy avatar.
Guess I'm the only one who's actually listened to it, in between shipping out Romantic Comedy and prepping our next two releases. I'm on disc two of the mono presentation, after which I shall skip the outtakes, which I've heard and have no interest in, and go to the tribute CDs.
I just listened to the non-album cuts on disc one...but would someone enter it into iTunes so I don't have to? Disc one seems to sound quite good!
I think everything on disc one was meant to be an album cut when the plan was a two LP set. There are some cues in this score that are so heart achingly beautiful that you just want to plotz.
