I listened very closely for those issues and didn't notice them. Are you listen to the Intrada version on headphones?
Yes. They are itsy-bitsy issues that have always been on my mind with respect to this version of TBM, but I took the liberty of listening to the entire score on the CD before mentioning them. I take it you mean you don't hear the sound issues I've pointed out for track no.s 2, 14 & 21.
As I imagine other cultists are as well, I'm most curious about that BLUE MAX release.
Well at least I can save some money be delaying the Tadlow Music new recording of the complete score..reconstructed by Leigh Phillips...until the 50th Anniversary of the movie....!

I'm certainly delighted to hear it's being worked. I'd hoped it would be one for consideration as none of the releases so far have been able to do anything to remedy the somewhat piercing quality of the original recording. Though it is one of my favourite Goldsmiths I don't listen to it as much as I'd like for that very reason. Maybe this release will correct it as this was rebuilt from the ground up, if not then it's a shame that yours will be delayed as a consequence.

Are you serious about this? Or just kidding?
Yavar
Not kidding at all...I could record BLUE MAX tomorrow as all the scores and parts are ready..... but now I will delay it for quite a while

I bought the new LLL Fantastic Voyage and I hoped they'd fixed the obvious problems with the last track of the previous release, but they didn't. So now I have the pleasure of owning two CDs with the same problem instead of just one.

That's a damn shame. I'd have loved to hear another splendid re-recording from Tadlow/Prometheus. I hope you don't wait too long James, none of us are getting any younger.

Noooo!!!! bring in re-recording any day! And as I mentioned it in the other BLUE MAX post- Pls get in Bruce Botnick to do the same type of recording his did on the perfromance of the RPO!He will bring in the definitive Goldsmith sound on the album!
This is a fantastic score and IMHO deserves a full re-recording with todays 32 bit technology and mastering. Seriously, If I ever do get rich or have the dough Id have Bruce Brougton conduct this baby using the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and having Bruce Botnick on the engineering side would be ideal. Iam a fan of the Goldsmith conducted suite on the GOLDSMITH CONDUCT GOLDSMITH cd and I would love the full score -recorded in that very same fashion.

No, but I'll give it another spin tonight and listen to it on headphones.

I also think this is a crying shame that we will not see this for another two years. I think there needs to better coordination between the labels, if possible, regarding re-releases of LEs and re-recordings. If there had been, we may had LLLs Blue Max earlier, and possibly the rerecording sometime this year.
I'm going to hold off on the LLL release now and wait for re-recording. As I stated in an earlier post, I don't see how the LLLs Blue Max will sound any better than Intradas.

It's true. Leigh Phillips just tweated a picture of the scoring sheets.
So... instead of a bold new recording, with sonics that (potentially) rival Goldsmith's own re-recording (sounding superb on Silva's re-mastering of Suites & Themes) we get a (probably) pointless re-re-re issue of the same flawed original recordings. Well done, fellas!

This!
I'm all for re-issuing something that's out of print, but quit making it "just tempting enough" to seduce owners of the original to double-dip only to discover that it's not all that much better after all. Of all the labels, LLL seems most guilty of this right now - especially with regards to reissuing FSM titles (Stagecoach, Batman, Fantastic Voyage, Tora Tora Tora, the rumoured Take A Hard Ride).
The latest bit of promotional nonsense (Flesh & Blood's "tweaked the sound to their liking") is my favourite yet. At least they indicate clearly that there's no reason to re-buy it.
