I often wonder if Harold hadn't left Hollywood to raise his kids in Germany whether he would have had a career like Hans Zimmer. Yes and no. I guess he would have scored quite a few things in the 90s if he had stayed, but at the same time he must have had to change his style somewhat, as that style went kind of out of fashion when the 80s ended. Perhaps he would have incorporated orchestral instruments into his electronic pallette for instance. Maybe that would have worked. But I don't think Scott/Simpson/Bruckheimer considered HF for Days Of Thunder for instance. Maybe they wanted a new sound for that one, and Zimmer had that new sound. But maybe he could have done things like Diggstown for Michael Ritchie, The Cutting Edge for Paul Glaser and The Inner Circle for Konchalovsky, directors he had worked with before? We will never know.

Not that Carpenter wants to. He's said frequently that he's open to it and has had several offers but they never come together. He was very close to scoring PLANET TERROR but for some reason Rodriguez stopped returning his calls.

Yeah it's all speculation. Does anyone have info whether he's made further attempts to find a place in the Industry after Cop Out. Last I heard he was ready to go back to work but that people think of him as an anachronism. I have to admit that I'm surprised and disappointed that his scoring career went nowhere after Cop Out, which is now 6 years ago. Just think about the amount of work he did in another 6-year period, 1984-1990! I guess he was away from the game for too long - 20 years away from Hollywood is way too long if he would want to return, and Cop Out (the movie) was a flop too.

One of our goals when we first started working with paramount was to release Harold's scores to the BHC films. Perhaps, one day, we'll get around to doing the 3rd one. In the meantime, enjoy (and purchase), these two incredible scores! MV Thank you for finally releasing it, its about time. Hopefully, now Fletch, Top Gun and others can be done later on! I wanted to ask, was the option of putting this track on available? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pww9iJ8z-vw

There's countless movies he could have scored, but instead we still get the generic stuff these days. I'm sure he's got a few more great scores awaiting.

A "Black Friday batch" going on sale one week after? That's very weird, here in Italy this kind of deferred sale would not make sense... Does in USA a "Christmas sale" begin on December 31?... I can't understand. It's not a sale, it's an announcement. Folks are usually away for the Holiday so we give them a few days to be prepared to purchase the cds when they come out on the following Tuesday. It's mainly done for the signed copies (2 of the 5 this year). If we started selling the cds at midnight AND they were signed that would be pretty douchey to the majority of our customers (based in the US). MV

I'm experiencing first hand the difficulties of reentering the work force after being a stay at home Dad. It's rough. It seems like Moroder is pretty active (Facebook, Twitter) and he's even older. I guess there's some inspiration there. Faltermeyer is somewhat active on Facebook too, but perhaps not quite as much as Moroder. Moroder has scored the TV series Queen Of The South, the feature Re-Assignment and the video-game Tron Run/R lately. Faltermeyer just did the musical Oktoberfest.

Just noticed Nasty Girl by Vanity 6 has been left off. And there's a discrepancy in the description: TOTAL ALBUM TIME: 63:10 *contains “Axel F (Theme From Beverly Hills Cop)” § contains material not used in film Album Time: 72:09 This is very unprofessional, I'm incredibly disappointed and will now never buy anything from LLL ever again. You usually do a after that, otherwise you become a d.i.c.k
