bump I think it's safe to say that Bruce will proactively tell you when it is shipping. It's good business. Just bumping the thread when there's no news isn't going to magically make news appear.

bump I think it's safe to say that Bruce will proactively tell you when it is shipping. It's good business. Just bumping the thread when there's no news isn't going to magically make news appear. Were it my intention, in bumping the thread back to the top, to prod or cajole Bruce to "magically make news appear," then your comment would be apt, and I would be appropriately chastised for the effort. It so happens however that ADVISE AND CONSENT, Jerry Fielding's auspicious and imo brilliant initial entry into the business of scoring films, is among my very favorite scores, and has been since I first heard it and saw the film in the theater in the early 60s. My intention in bumping the thread was to bring the existence (and wonderfulness) of the new Kritzerland release of this score back from the second page swamp into the awareness of the board's members, with the thought that by so doing I might help sustain or perhaps generate in some fence-sitters enough interest to go ahead and order a copy. I want it (and other great scores of the era) to succeed commercially, so that people such as Bruce, and even yourself, might consider it worthwhile to continue to release Golden and Silver Age scores in the future. I would and will certainly do the same for any Intrada release in that category, so, in conclusion, I'll just say, you're welcome, my pleasure.

I understand everyone's anxious, no one more than I But the wheels of Sony are the wheels of Sony and it's why I gave us an extra wide berth on this release. But still the wheels turn slowly and I don't think the holiday helped nor did the fact that we had to do the booklet printing with them and that printing is done in China or somewhere. But the good news is they approved the other project I REALLY wanted badly so that will be coming. Unfortunately, they're so backed up over there I can't actually release it until May of next year. Not kidding. Couldn't believe it, but it's a goodie.

Actually I'm not a fan of artificially bumping posts, but your point is fair enough. I recommend that it would be more effective if you want to start a conversation...to start a conversation. Just writing bump isn't going to inspire anyone to say something they haven't already said or are waiting for the release to actually hear it. Perhaps wait until it's out?

Well, main problem is that people simply don't read Bruce's announcement carefully - they didn't noticed that line: CDs will ship by the first week of July, but never fear, we’ve actually been averaging three to five weeks early in terms of shipping ahead of the official ship date. Plus people probably once again forgot, that with Sony CDs it's takes much more time, than usual. I don't think the "problem" is people not reading carefully. You have to read what the official release date is in order to know what "3-5 weeks earlier" is based on. More likely folks got their hopes up for an early release from this June 21 update: Yes, they're being shipped to us on Monday - that will take a few days then we'll process right away. That is why I gave this one a wide street date berth - Sony presses these discs not us so we're not in control of the time it takes. But that was over two weeks ago, and Bruce hasnt said anything about receiving them. Now that we're into July, it's a moot point because it's officially late. It was helpful that Bruce implied in that post that Sony had their own timetable. But if he hadnt added that, I'm not sure why you think we're responsible to know this about Sony. Btw, this is just a response to JBFan, not a criticism of Kritzerland.

And unfortunately they did not ship on that Monday. It was delayed further. Just one of those things as Cole Porter once said.

I haven't sent out a thing about it yet, but there was a problem with the pressing - a glitch of some sort - minor but we all know how film music collectors are so it's being repressed right now and we'll have them as soon as they get done. This is, I believe, the first time in our history when we've ever been late on a title - that's 300 releases, so I'd rather have it be perfect as I'm sure all of you would.
