Add me to the list. I'd buy it in a heart beat and I have also been waiting for years for this. I have been bored with the releases to come out this year and something like this would be great. I agree. If Roger says he knows why and then leaves it at that it could mean he has to be quiet possibly for legal reasons or maybe an announcement will be coming sooner than we think. Either way, I'd like to know why it is taking so long as well.
They have to see how much this score is in demand and to ignore is just poor business. If there are legal reasons, then tell us. I gave up wishing for a Dick Tracy deluxe soundtrack months ago. Not because Beatty was being difficult but it sounded like it was a lot of work for Disney and Sondheim.
If a HER ALIBI soundtrack is doable and possible for release in the near future I wish they would tell us to be patient rather than stringing us along with a 'maybe it will come out, maybe it won't' attitude. Just my two cents.

If this was a Goldsmith score, we would get some direct answers.
TO MALEFICIO- Got a question for a near expert on Georges. Over the years I have pretty much gotten a good idea on what DELERUE did and didn't, we all know about A LITTLE ROMANCE ETC, But how about TRUE CONFESSIONS-81- that pretty theme played out in nice style during end credits is that Georges or a old religious hymn?
If we keep talking up "Her Alibi", eventually I may even like it better than what I've always maintained was my fav. Delerue romantic score: "Interlude".
I will say this: the feeling of romance and springtime are evident in both. I would buy either score, instantly. I would pay more than $20 for "Her Alibi" (or "Interlude").
I will admit that "Her Alibi" is a better film than "Interlude" in any case.

It's an old irish folk song called Carrick Fergus.
From what I gather, some other label has the license and they're sitting on it to release who knows when. My money is on Universal France.
Universal France... how could they be persuaded to release it or to co-release it with another specialty label?
Who knows?
Also if Universal France does release it (and this is all pure conjecture on my part) it probably won't be complete and chronological and may not even be sourced from the original master tapes at Warner Bros (if you listen to the HER ALIBI track on the 6 CD set, it has some hiss which probably meant it's probably from Delerue's own lower quality copy).
I check out INTERLUDE the other night and indeed Georges score added immensely to the film. Which I felt was ok, [nothing that special]. The story was morally dubious and I was thinking even though my throat dropped slightly during the touching ending with Georges sublime music, It was a shame that great music could have been used in a more honest romantic love story without the infidelity and all. But it is indeed a classic main theme melody. Although I notice the vocal at the beginning opening credits didn't seem to have barely any instrumentation behind the vocal. On the LP of course there definitely is.
