Wow! This set looks amazing, and I am loving the Billy Goldenberg stuff. Samples sounds fantastic.
Do you think this set will last very long, as I cant really afford it at the moment. Maybe I could trade my Intrada Predator for it. Yikes. So much great stuff out at the moment.
I also like the Deadly Tower score, but it's not worth getting the full set, at least not right away. I'm waiting for the TNG boxset! And for those who aren't interested in that release, this tv omnibus looks like a great alternative.
Is there a way to listen to samples continuously? It's very difficult to listen to five discs' worth of cues with individual clicks.
Very easy, actually. Use Firefox and download the freeware FoxyTunes. Works like a champ.
Another option is to use DownloadThemAll -- they are standard Mp3 files, so just DL em to your drive and listen to all 2 and a half hours worth of samples...

Why spend time downloading if you don't have to? Why use up drive space if you don't have to?

I'm guessing this set will be around for a while even at 2000 units because it cost $60 and is TV music from a time many may not have much of an interest in. FSM sellouts seem to take a along time even for those releases you think would go fast. Sometimes it takes years! Anyway, I'm counting on it myself since it will be a while before I can afford to buy it and I REALLY want this set!

Join the club. I still want the Kaper set as well. and....and...sigh....I need to win the mega millions jackpot on Friday.
When you listen to any of these clips on your computer, you automatically download it to the browser cache on your hard drive.
Jeff, when I'm streaming thru FoxyTunes I don't think that happens, but I clear out cache everyday anyway, so it's no biggie. I listened to the samples of all five cd's this morning with one click and it ran for almost an hour. Mr. Kendall is very generous with his samples!
I'll get this because it has some of my favorite composers, but wish the scores were for better known films (ya know, DUEL, etc). I'm already looking forward to Volume Two.
I'd love to have Goldenberg's Duel too, but it's Universal so no chance for it in an MGM set unfortunately. ANY Goldenberg is fantastic though and High Risk sounds like a good one, much in his beloved suspense, mystery writing vein. It sounds like this set is full of rare gems and with most entries being largely unknown, it should make for some interesting discoveries. Sometimes it can be more fun exploring the unknown!
... Sometimes it can be more fun exploring the unknown! I totally agree, I have scores for films I've never seen, and the music here sounds great. I only mentioned DUEL to exemplify what I meant by wider known movie titles (at least, known to me).
Although I’m not familiar with a single one of these titles, this seems like a most interesting collection, really a showcase for the underrepresented TV work from these great composers. The sheer volume is a little overwhelming though … I hate it when I don’t find the time to appreciate something I’ve acquired … I’m definitely intrigued though.
