Kirk: "Mr. Scott, have you always multiplied your repair estimates by a factor of 4?" Scotty: "Certainly, sir. How else can I keep my reputation as a miracle worker?"

Bruce hints that his next soundtrack release will come very soon. Next week perhaps? Something from the 1970s perhaps? I think the 1970s is a splendid decade for film scores. This isn't from the 1970s, however

Off topic, but as an insider, can you tell us why an album like MacKenna's Gold is taking an eternity to come to CD? Is it something to do with the cost of licensing the Feliciano stuff? I'd have thought an album with a big name artist and well-known song featured would be all the more likely to be released. Have you looked into the possibility, or know if any labels have actively tried to issue it? Things are always peculiar with licensing from folks like RCA. They have licensed, of course, but it was not frequent in the old days. Now they're tied in with Sony and Sony, whose licensing deals even a decade ago rendered doing anything practically impossible (5000 unit guarantee and mastering and pressing done by them), well - now they seem more interested in giving their stuff to Arkiv and selling sixty copies on CDR (believe me, I've seen the numbers) than doing the wise thing and letting the specialty labels do their 1000 copies - that they'd make some real dough on those titles and they'd still own everything. It's not something I pretend to understand and I find it truly annoying. I love Quincy and it's a title I'd do in a heartbeat, but after talking to Sony a while ago and asking about some of their unreleased cast album stuff, it just wasn't of interest.

1980s? My kind of decade! I... can't imagine it would have happened this fast, but would this happen to be that one score I messaged you about on Facebook a little while ago? I can't remember - what score was it?

I can't remember - what score was it? Check Facebook! Oh, that. No. That turned out to be not doable for us - the film in question is, for some wacky reason, not owned by MGM.

Might this 1980s score be the work of an Oscar-winning composer who's new to Kritzerland? The composer, while new to Kritzerland, is not an Oscar winner.
